It's the last day of school for DD and DH has just told me he has 2 concerts at the weekend so he has the weekend off. He could have told me 3 days ago before I told DD she would be coming shopping with nanny and me tomorrow
I fake tanned my legs yesterday as I wanted to start wearing shorts and they have come out all streakyI've put another coat on but it won't develop until after I've done the school run, hopefully no one will look too closely at me
It's a little cooler this morning but I don't think we got any rain last night, it looks like it's hotting up rapidly though so I will try and get any housework done before the heat gets here.
I've just found a 4 berth tent for £25 and I am so temptedOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Good morning everyone,
Busy morning planned for me, have to be in Plymouth by 9.30 for my contact lens appointment, also promised DD a pressie for getting such a good school report (nice to know shes 'a pleasure to have in the class'!!!), and DS the new Arsenal kit that came out on Tuesday. I normally get it the day it comes out, but knowing i had to come in today, ive made him wait! Mind you, his report wasnt so good (clever boy, but tends to try and impress his friends rather than work!!!) so prob a good thing he has to wait a couple of days.
Also having DSs new bed delivered today, of course its due whilst we are in Plymouth, so ive agreed that as long as it isnt raining, and the bed is wrapped in plastic they can leave it in the back garden, its pretty safe around here and i shouldnt be too long in town, its a good excuss not to stay too long shopping and spending money that i havnt got!!!! (and i want to save anything i do have for Saturday and the Next sale!!!!)
Right, off to make the packed lunches, get DSs breakfast and shout AGAIN for DD to get out of bed!!!!!
Rzl - hope the viewing goes well today.
Have a good day everyone,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
:hello: Morning, all!:hello:
Haven't been on for a few days - about to finish w*** for 6 weeks, so lots of loose ends to tie up. I'm not in teaching, but have a "work-life balance" arrangement with my boss, that I don't work school hols, as long as I make up the time.
Rzl, everything crossed for your viewing.
Aussielass, hope they find out what's up with YS, soon. (((hugs))) for you.
Manicdays, did you mention you'd been to a concert............:rotfl: :rotfl: Caught a mention of it on another thread, too! Have been singing "take on me" at the top of my lungs, in your honour. DS doesn't get it.
Nelski, do you ever sleep?Great to see you, hun! :T
Snowyowl, pavements were slightly wet here, this morning. DH informs me it's a rare meterological phenomenon, used to be called rain.
Scuzz, take care of yourself. Hot toddy??
Ajax, cockroack, yak! I liberated a mouse from our chick corn this week, and released it a few miles away. It was a compromise, I didn't want to keep it, but children didn't want it trapped.
PP, you've been a busy bee this morning. When does your DD finish school? We have leavers' assembly tomorrow, where all the leavers are mentioned, and presented with a momento of their time in primary school. I have industrial strength tissues. Will cry buckets. Do you have something similar?
Kazonline, will get back once I've read your biggie from yesterday. :T
Need to make omelette (from our eggs, so very yellow) for DS and me. HM hummus on HM bread, with olives and salad for lunch. Curry for supper, made entirely from veg from the garden, with reduced naan bread that I bought yesterday.
Speak later. Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Morning all, :hello: haven't read the thread through yet as I'm saving it for when I get back from the school run while I have a nice cup of tea.

- Clean DD's room
- Switch her blind over to the new blackout one which needs cutting down first. I'm hoping it will be the same fittings as the one thats already up so I will just have to cut the blind to size and put it up

Morning All
Its cloudy and overcast here, feels a bit cooler outside the house but inside its still boiling, so when come home from school run will throw open all the windows. Have got a bit of washing today but there has been showers forcast so will have to see.
Plan of action is - hoover stairs and all downstairs, swish bathrooms and clean kitchen. Minimum of 1 hour ironing then in my office for a couple of hours. Really want to get paperwork as up straight as possible as want to declutter office - it resembles a bomb site.
L - chicken Salad
D - Im going out yipee! Chilli from the freezer for kids and OH.
Hope you all have a good day - sounds like everyone is so far except for Scuzz - Get Well Soon0 -

(poking head round the door...)
Hi - is it OK for a newbie to drop in..? First day of a fortnight off work and am just finding my way about. Spent a couple of hours already this morning in DFW - now found my way over here. Plan for today - cancel some unnecssary spending, work out a meal plan for the week, plant out some herbs and tomato plants I got from work. Thankfully much cooler here after a little overnight rain - might be able to get the spade in!
Nice to meet you all.
