If you make marmalade you can save the skin for that - shred it and freeze it and wait for the marmalade season (in fact you can to this with any citrus skin apparently)

  • As there is some rind, you could make candied peel for baking/naughty snacking?
2 parts water, to 1 part sugar, bring to boil, pop in rinds, boil further 30 mins and dry by spreading on wax paper.

Fab ideas - problem is I cant have sugar, so everything has to be made with sweetener - which makes everything a bit yakky! I love HM Lemonade but with sweetener it just doesn't taste right.
I shall carry on the search though
Thank you for your suggestions :)

  • how many lemons do you have?
  • I think I'd try that north-african salted lemon recipe
  • Hi,

I bought myself a Soap and Glory foot buffer today and on the instructions it said to rub lemon juice on my heels and allow to soak for 10 minutes before using the foot buffer - according to the instructions - it helps dissolve the glue that gives dead skin cells their grippiness...

So, going away from cooking recipes, perhaps you could use your lemons as a foot rub!

I'm going to try it myself later, perhaps we could compare!:rotfl:
