I'd slice them and freeze the slices to use in tea, as I prefer a slice of lemon rather than milk in my tea.:o

Use it to wash your hair. I gave up shampoo about 3 months ago and lemon juice is a wonderful degreaser.

  • the lemon curd is lovely. Also sliced one lemon and froze for drinks, and using the squeezed skins for cleaning. Pretty useful fruit actually!

I've merged this with our existing lemons thread. This thread may also help.

The lemons caramelise and are gorgeous.

    Hi MimiF

Great Lamb with Lemons recipe ! :) (albeit posted here yonks ago: on 19-03-2007! LOL!)

Just a couple of quick questions (if you can remember that far back!):

    (1) As the lemons "caramelised" in your recipe, did you continue to cook this mixture for a bit longer after "frying off" the lamb; & if so then for how long? And was it on the hob in the frying pan, or in the oven?

    (2) Did you peel the lemons before adding them to the mixture (as lemon peel can be quite bitter!)
