Hello everyone, busy couple of days. I hope everyone is ok?

I have been trying to spend less time on the laptop and more time actually doing with very little actually achieved :p

I have today made the worst soup ever which needs to be binned. It takes me back to my mothers turkey soup in 1979, it is that bad :rotfl:.
For dinner we have an experimental slow cooker curry with chicken, sweet potatoes, chickpeas, coconut milk and spinach. Hopefully that is ok at least.

I waited in all day for a log delivery which finally turned up at school run time. DS2 (5yo!) and I have carefully shifted it all to the wood store before it got any wetter, looks very green to me though.

On the crafting theme I had another attempt at crochet last night. I think I need to watch the dvd first :o. I also got my hook rug kit out but realised I have lost the hook thingy. Need to find it fast or order a new one of those then. Would be nice to finish it before my next birthday seeing as it was a present to myself last birthday.

Can you have a bucket for things like coffee grounds & tea bags? Then can it go onto a compost heap? And can you use soda crystals to soak your dischloths with a septic tank?

Tea bags and coffee grounds already go into the compost bucket, but OH insists on washing the coffee machine filter with the dishcloth, I cannot get him to rinse it under the tap before applying the cloth.

I am not sure about soda crystals and septic tanks. A the moment I use a mixture of washing powder and washing soda in my washing machine to wash clothes........the water in Scotland is much softer than in the midlands, so no problems with soap scum, will not need the washing soda. I think I may use vinegar in a spray on the loo see what happens.

Also need to put 1/3 of my wardrobe on Ebay, along with 1/4 of my footwear :o

I'm pretty sure this Sunday is a free listing day :j
my DS got the other results of his gcse's yesterday and so far he has achieved an A* in chemistry, A in biology, C in physics and B in maths. Am very proud!!

That's a great set of results he must have worked very hard.

DS1 only had maths module results this time which was an A and his Finance exam he took this week the results are back already and he got 83% which is an A in that too. Obviously the other modules have to be completed but he's on track.

pop it into a bowl of cold water, and it will defrost quicker....
i do this ALL the time :)

I'm always doing this too. Sometimes you need to change the water as it gets too cold.

Dinner done and eaten by all. Off to run the bath now for DS3.

    Hi all!

Welcome back redruby! Congrats to the youngsters re DofE and exam results (I did DofE bronze and silver, didn't do gold but they did offer it at school in VI-th form and one of the girls got trench-foot ).

I'm trying to get up the energy to pack for my trip to Dublin, we're only taking cabin baggage as we're only going for one night but I'd totally forgotten until I've come to pack the contents of my washbag and make-up bag that I remembered about the flippin' security 100ml liquid-limit in a see-through bag

I think I'm going to go to bed early, I have to be at the tube station by 06:09 to get to Victoria in time to get to Gatwick... That's my OS (kind of) bit for the post, we're not getting the Gatwick Express, we're getting the local train service which takes 15 mins longer but is much cheaper :D We booked the flights aaaaages ago so they were v cheap and we're staying in a youth hostel.

hex2: I'm really struggling with the crochet, I've got the day off on Monday (to recover from Dublin) so I might try and give it another go :p

Hugs and positive thoughts to all,

    Take care,

    Caroline xx

Edit: LameWolf I've had issues for the last few days, I keep getting error messages telling me I can't connect to the MSE servers.
:D**Thanks to everyone on here for hints, tips and advice!**:D
