    Morning all

Dark, mild and foggy here, but still some ice lingering, hopefully a mild day today will get rid of it.

Had quite a productive day yesterday got housework done, and now have a pile of shredding to do, an ironing mountain and another pile of papers to sort. Mum phoned yesterday and asked if I could dye her hair today, so will be going after I've been to town and done my food shopping later on this morning.

Managed to get to the scales and I've stayed the same, I'm so surprised as we've eaten lots and drank lots - but in the meantime I have been strict - so maybe it's balanced itself out. I'm now back to it as I want to be at target weight by the end of March/April, so really need to stay focused - but my birthday and Xmas are now out of the way! Last night we had HM lasagne, OH and boys had chips with their's but I had salad. Tonight I'm making chicken curry and vegetable curry, vegetable rice, naans and poppodums. Not much else to report.

Take care those in the snow. Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Hugs for all the poorlies.
Our snow/ice has virtually disappeared :T
Going into town for a wander round the shops (must have a look at the offers in M&S)
Then carry on with sorting out my craft stuff - right now it looks a real mess. Trouble is it always looks worse before it gets better, but it needs doing as at the moment I have stuff I don't use because it has got 'buried'.

    Morning All

Last day for the kitchen re-fit today :j tiler has just arrived and he's tiling the splash back and the floor. I think we're going to put an undercoat on the ceiling and the walls to let it soak in as the ceiling has been replaced and there is bare plaster on some of the walls where old sockets have been moved. I'll need new baskets for the top as my old ones are too big now and a bit bashed up! I know people go through far worse hardships than living in uproar for a week but I've had better weeks!! My poor DH has been in all day with the mess and the noise and the DD and dog in the living room which has had about 3' x 3' of clear space! We went out for dinner and the cinema last night as DS1 baby-sat for us so that was good :D

Bitsy - I agree with you when you're pregnant everyone gives you their stories and they are usually pain-filled and dramatic - I always make a point of saying the labour for my twins was three hours and I slept most of it...they woke me up (:rotfl:) ten minutes before they arrived to push (gotta love epidurals):D everyone's is so different...the bit about being pregnant that gets me is when about six months in you get a light bulb moment and you realise there's only one way out for this baby  :rotfl: Anyway my babydays are well and truly over - DH is a just a pleasure model now ;) Infact DD sneaked in - we did the positive test on the Monday and his appointment for the snip came on the wednesday  so apparantly she was 'meant to be here'...clearly some kind of torture was intended:rotfl:

Really busy at work - January is our busiest month as all the people who have left filing their tax return until last minute descend on us! So I have to work five days instead of four a week in January and while the extra pay comes in handy to square up after christmas - I really don't like working Fridays!!

Right I have a couple of MS jobs to fit in today so I need to prep for them and 'de-clutter' my handbag - just to I can lift the bloomin thing without pulling a muscle!

And N9eave - good to see you're well trained ;)

    Have a good day!

Well done you sleeping through most of it :T With DS I was pleasantly off my face on pethidine (good stuff that if it doesn't make you sick and slept for a good portion of my labour) - in fact when they had to whip me down to delivery I was still seeing double
With DD is was totally different - laboured at home for as long as possible but then whilst waiting to go into delivery I dilated from 4cm to nearly 10cm in about 15 mins and my body started to push on it's own. That was agony  I didn't get any pain relief until I started pushing and by then it was too late as it had stopped hurting :rotfl: Given the choice though I'd still rather have labour number 2 than number 1. It was so nice being at home on my own muck heap than being induced and stuck on a labour ward.

I meant to say NPM - too episiotomies (sp?):eek::eek: I thought my 3rd degree tear was bad enough but to be cut twice eek!!!!

Sorry don't mean to derail this thread with labour stories.

  • Good morning everyone  Busy morning, as I need to assist DD with her dressmaking, then I'm out for tea and cake with friends :T DH and I are off to the cinema to see The Road, and have a meal this evening. We've heard mixed reviews of the film, but both loved the book, and at least I can rest my eyes on Viggo :smileyhea

Proud mother alert - DD was awarded her bronze Duke of Edinburgh yesterday - she worked really hard, so we're delighted. She's planning to do her silver, with DS, next year :T She was scetched by one of her tutors yesterday, who's quite a well reknowned artist :T She's asked if we can frame it, which we will :T

DD has invited friends for supper tomorrow, so we need to find an impressive, but not too complicated veggie dish, and a pudding :D

Have a productive Old Style day :hello:

    Morning all:wave:

Raining here and the snow is going.

Things to do today -buy wine, clean bathroom and loo, make bed and bread.

What I really want to do is get on with my blanket. I can however do that in the evening rather than the daytime (whilst watching black and white movies -my guilty secret:o). I have nearly finished joining all the squares. After that I'm going to crochet a border using each of the colours I've used in the squares and then I'll put and edging stitch round the whole lot. I'm really excited about it :j:jI can't wait to get started on the next project what ever it may be.

    Breakfast was eggy bread.

Lunchboxes are very dull and have cheese sandwiches, scones, apples and bananas.

I might have what I had yesterday which was cabbage and white beans cooked with olive oil, garlic and chilli. It was amazingly delicious.

Supper will be salmon fillets with honey and mustard, rosemary and garlic potatoes and peas & carrots.

    Have a good one;)

hope that you are all well, and ice free. :D

today is the first day that i have not bought lunch to work, as we are going to the pub for lunch... :j but i have managed the rest of the week, even yesterday when i lfet my lunch at home, i had soup in my drawer that saw me through...

    Morning all.

Much milder & raining here too so hopefully the snow will finally go soon. The bins are due to be emptied today although they aren't taking the blue recycling bin or the paper bag  Everything is overflowing despite the fact that we have squashed everything down as much as poss.

Breakfast was porridge with banana, lunch is spicy lentil soup & dinner is potato hash with yorkshire puds for those that want them.

The minister who is conducting the funeral is coming out to see us this morning & I'm meeting my friend in town later.

I picked up some wool yesterday to knit my Dad a new hat & started that last night hopefully I'll finish it today :T

Diva Hope that all is well with you?

Nimbo I freeze excess mash regularly but when it's defrosted be sure to add some extra seasoning, milk and/or butter as you reheat it or it can be a bit tasteless.

I've cleaned the bathroom & the windows downstairs on my way up now to do upstairs & turf DS1 out to college at 10am :rotfl:

Have a good day all :D

Yes nimbo mash can freeze, just use something like an ice cream scoop or tablespoon to make rounds and freeze them on a tray and then add to bag then you can get out as much as you want at a time.

Well think I am organised, just need to tidy up the bedroom, and make a pack up for lunch time on the road, fill the flask and put the last minute bits in the car, put this away, and set off around 10ish when the work traffic has calmed down and hopefully any ice will be gone.

Hope to be south of London before tea time.

    Take care

n.b. Bitsy I was enduced due to BP had no problems, and was delivered in my individual labour room, as it was so quick, later the orderly said, to my DH how many do you have at home, do you mind it was our first, and I didn't risk it again. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:We are all different.
