Morning all
WM and DW have been on this morning. Washing is now on airer in front of storage heater to dry whilst I'm at work.
It's raining here so will take car to work. I'll also finally get to go to the tip to take all the recycling after work. Then I'm meant to be meeting friends for coffee but they have cancelled twice so not holding my breath!
I did go food shopping last night, and got some good offers. Thanks to whoever posted about the Tesco small tins of sweetcorn being BOGOF (I can't remember who sorry!) I got a few tins of them.
Off to work now. Not much OS later. Need to pack my weekend bag for the hen do I'm off to tomorrow. Omelette and beans for tea as have eggs and open tin of beans to use up!
Have a good day all

Morning All :hello:,
Mild here but some joker has decided that the air conditioning needs to be on in the office  For Goodness' sake it's only 2 degrees out there!!!! The majority of the ice has dissipated though so hopefuly I will be staying on my feet.
DH managed to cope with all his OS instructions yesterday and also cooked the tea so I was able to have a good sleep when I got home and didn't have to worry about anything. Although today we're back to normal as he's back at work, and he can't manage chores after a day's work... Funny how I manage it isn't it?
So tea tonight will need to be a simple affair as I just have not got the energy. Probably something like sausage and mash I think but that depends entirely on whether I fancy it when I get home. I probably won't .
Get well soon Sequeena. Hugs to those in need/want, have a lovely day xxSometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand,

I'm off to Blackburn shopping today so will have a huge cinnamon Pretzel and Hot Chocolate for Brekkie when I get there. Not very OS but boy are they tasty.
Will be putting the BM and WM on when I get back and its something with Chips for tea as its Friday just not sure what yet.So I reckon Freezer Surprise will be on the cards
Have a good day all will catch up later when I return from my retail therapy

Good morning everyone.
Back from London but have to work all day today and then get ready to go away for a training weekend later on. So very little OS going on Im afraid. Back to normal next Friday - out at work from Mondayb to Thuirsday next week. Oh the joys of working from home!
Sorry to hear so many are unwell - hope you all feel better soon. It's miserable when you're ill at the best of times, without the weather making us all more miserable.
Been foggy here all night and we had a powercut at about 10.30pm. Guess we were meant to be in bed! But at elast it happened before we went to sleep so we could set the alarms on our phones to make sure we woke up - our usual alarm clock is electric. It's amazing how dependent we are on elecricity, even with gas central heating, the pump is electric.
Fog is still lingering, but as I need to be at my computer all day, it wont affect me. Take care all of you who have to go out in the snow/ice/fog/rain today. If anyone has any sunshine, so let us know - seems like the sun has abandoned us up here!

Hello os peeps
Hope everyone ok.Well i sent dd to school with a food flask full of soup for lunch, think she was a teeny bit worried about getting the old flask out in front of people but i didn't have enough cash to give her as lunch at school never goes below 2-3 quid so soup it is.
Washing done and about to do the loo,i find that it takes more time to put all the little things back to where they belong, bobbles and the like, strange as the house looks tidy before bed so how it gets so messy by morning i do not know.
well of to do a meal plan, been a bit slack and it's meant i have been at the shops daily and have spent more hey ho.
Hope everyone has a lovely day

Last one from me, honest! I had pethidine with DS1 and had a wonderful conversation with the midwife that was actually a hallucination & was with myself:rotfl:
Last day off for me today, need to nip into town while OH is out on site. Also need to put 1/3 of my wardrobe on Ebay, along with 1/4 of my footwear
I demolished the ironing mountain last night (apart from the clothes on the airers in the spare bedroom) - Woohoo!!
Lunch will be a quick Marmite sarnie, and supper will be the leftover leek & bacon pudding-insides + a chicken breast (note to self - take chicken breast out of freezer!) made into a chicken leek & bacon filo pie to use the pack of filo pastry languishing in the fridge! OH has finally finished the Christmas cake so will have to think of something nice to either start or finish the meal - we tend to have a "proper" 2-course supper at weekends, to accompany the bottle of wine

I am cosied up on the sofa in my dressing gown.....done the school walk and came back with wet feet and jeans. They are hung on the radiator drying while I think about making a cottage pie!!!! Really tired today(stayed up till 1 watching CSI) but will try and get my mojo back.
Lunch will be fresh(part baked) rolls with cheese and dinner will be cottage pie.
Have a good day all xx0 -
morning everyone!
cold and grey here but all the snow has now gone which is a relief. I have to stay in today as i have autoglass coming to replace my windscreen. am a bit annoyed as i had a chip in it and i called them out about 3 months ago to repair it (free on the insurance) but the guy took a look at it and said that it was far too small and it wouldn't cause any damage to the screen. low and behold we got in the car on monday and the chip that wouldn't do any damage had caused a huge crack in the windscreen! so now i am stuck with paying bloody autoglass £60 (insurance excess) to come and replace it!
Had a 2 nice surprises this morning while checking my emails though. The first was a notification that i had won a selection of jams from a competition i entered a while back so they should arrive within the next few days. Also had the dreaded 'your electricity bill is ready to view' email. now i pay a fixed amount each month but it never seems to be enough to cover the bill and i end up having to stump up the extra. anyway i checked the bill and for the first time ever i am actually £2.74 in credit! Am very happy about that. after the last bill i purchased an owl monitor which has helped us all to change our bad habits (when i say our i mean that i often sprint round the house switching off lights, computers etc like a mad woman!).
my DS got the other results of his gcse's yesterday and so far he has achieved an A* in chemistry, A in biology, C in physics and B in maths. Am very proud!! My DS is mad on footie and so i have decided to treat him to an ipswich town away shirt as he has worked so hard for his exams.
started reading 'the thrifty cookbook' yesterday as i borrowed it from the library this week. am enjoying it very much so may treat myself and buy a copy.
Anyway i have babbled on for long enough!
Hugs to those feeling unwell or down.0 -
Morning all............((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))) if you need one....
Its raining, so should clear whats is left of the snow away!! We are waiting for the chiropodist to come and deal with the feet.
Question.......do any of you have a spetic tank???? The cottage is not on mains drainage and I remember from my years in the cottage in Hampshire that you should not use bleach or washing powder with phosphates in..........I presume vinegar is ok.........the toilet has a streak down it which I think might be limescale, although the water in Scotland is generally much softer than in England.......I do occasionally use a toilet cleaner, guess I will have to switch to ecover stuff, will have to use my present laundry 'mix' up before we leave. Do not want to unpset the digestive system!!!
We have to start phoning round now for quotes etc for removals.......and after my machine quilting workshop next Saturday I need to pack up the sewing room and start sorting out anything we do not want to take with us and get rid of it. I have a contact in an organisation which recyles furntiure etc to people who are moving into homes and have no furniture.
OSing will really be to the fore when we have moved, we will have to pay off our removal costs asap.....I will also have to keep a good store cupboard, at least 3 weeks supply in, I might do an online shop with Asda rather than have to carry it. We have a very good butcher in the village, milk and fish are delivered and there is a farm shop just up the road which sells a very good range of stock.
Although we have a plot to grow veg in it will be stuff thats expensive to buy, so no spuds, carrots brussels, parsnip or turnip etc.
Supper today will be scotch pie mash veg and gravy. I picked up a couple of pies in Asda the other day, its something OH has not had since we moved down from Scotland in 1998. They are not exactly the healthiest of pies, but lovely once in a while.
Time to go, the coffee pot calls and I need to sort out my fabric for next week........may be back later. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Good Morning,
I had one birth where I had it all...epidural...forceps...pethedine....and three where I had no pain relief what-so-ever:eek: Im a bit of a mean midwife as I hardly ever used pharmaceutical pain relief but always organised it for women if they asked for it. The majority of my work was at home so we used water a lot, mobilisation and distraction. The most effective is the constant one-to-one support of a midwife during labour...that has been researched. Its just really sad that there are not enough midwives to guarantee that and Im sure many women s bad experiences would have been good ones if they had had that!
A positive attitude and not too many preconceived ideas about how labour should be is also helpful.
I have an appointment today so need to go out later. I have already run DS to school and the rain was freezing on my windscreen. DS3 is off as he has a very sore throat and as its freezing cold and rainy I decided a day at home would be best.
Have a good day,
MollyxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
