How long for 02 BB speed to settle ?

Hi
I signed with the 'up to 20 meg package'; 02 says my line is capable of 19 meg (obviously not really going to get that), but after doing a couple of speed tests, the average I'm on is about 9 meg.
BB was activated only yesterday, so do you think it's going to take a bit of time for the speed to increase ? (if indeed it does) ?
Thanks in advance.

No ADSL "settles" - that is a myth - what you are getting now is what you will continue to get unless something changes.
That something may be you tidying up your internal wiring and increasing the speed (although 9 - 19Mbps is very unlikely)
or
If your line is unstable DLM may impose a higher target noise margin slowing you down. That is unlikely on O2 though.
You need to post up your router stats for anybody to have a clue what if anything may be wrong.0 -
O2 told me I can get 20Mb while I know I can get 5Mb on ADSL & 6Mb on +2,I'm getting 6.19+/-Mb!cagney_2010 wrote: »Hi

What speed does the checker below say your line can handle?

I'm with Be which is owned by O2. BT says:
Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a potential ADSL2+ broadband line rate of 6Mbps or greater. Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a potential ADSL 2+ Annex-M broadband upstream line rate of 500Kbps and downstream line rate of 4Mbps.
Router says 15Mbps. Was originally told I'd get 12Mbps and I'm 2.5kms from the exchange.I went away and now I'm back.:j:j0 -

How do I get the stats ?

This is what it says :
Any insight ? <confused>Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a fixed line rate up to 2Mbps.
Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a potential ADSL Max broadband line rate of 6.5Mbps or greater.
Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a potential ADSL2+ broadband line rate of 9Mbps or greater. Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a potential ADSL 2+ Annex-M broadband upstream line rate of 750Kbps and downstream line rate of 6.5Mbps.0 -
Can you get some stats from your router/modem-eg:
Uptime: 0 days 18:39:42
Bandwidth (Up/Down)
[kbps/kbps]: 1,126 / 14,934I went away and now I'm back.:j:j0 -

Follow these instructions.
What does the O2 checker say for your number and post code?
https://www.o2broadband.o2.co.uk/getBroadband.do
I've just joined O2 last Friday. O2 quoted me 7Mb - so far I'm syncing around 6.2Mb using an extension socket. The BT checker said 4Mb for me. I did have to remove the bell wire from my extensions as I was getting around 3.5MB before i did this.0 -

I get an error message :

According to that you should be getting 16.3Mb.
Where are you measuring your speed from?0 -
