  • I have just got an ASDA card which is provided by santander and the card number isn't actually the account number, have you checked the top right hand corner of the letter which had your card attached - it may have a different account number.

Still waiting for my PIN, three weeks after registering. I'll be ringing them tomorrow to find out what's going on.

Assuming that you mean the online banking PIN have you tried requesting a forgotten pin, I did this yesterday through ASDA and is provided by santander - this worked and they sent a pin via email straight away.
  • I don't know how blonde you are but you're not very dizzy are you? lol
I had the same thought and I checked but the account number does match the card number.

i applied for the card on the 13-APR and phoned up this morning as i am eager to get a card as i (hopefully) jet off to NY shortly.

In my application i asked for 2 BT'S. one at £1500 and another at £1200, just to pay off the remaining balances on other CC so i can close them.

When i phoned up to check progress i was informed it was with the 'lenders'. He then asked me if i had any other accounts with santander, which i do, 1 Current account (i dont use) and i have had 2 HP agreements with them in the last 3years (paid 1 off and took out another).

    are these normal questions?

Does anyone know why or if they have pulled together and are trying a bit harder to process all these applications?

It was actually a '5 digit registration number'. I just rang now, and apparently the information they initially sent me was for registering a current account, which is obviously completely useless for a credit card.

    They really are hopeless.
  • Just phoned to make a balance transfer. I've never had to repeat myself so many times when reading out security info. You'd think the ability to actually hear what a customer's saying would be a fairly high priority for call centre staff.

Anyway, they're going to apply a 3% fee, even though I have an A&L current account, and apparently I have to raise an enquiry with them to get the fee back. Has anyone else had success with this?

Just got my pin number so hopefully card will follow soon.

Hmmm, don't like the sound of the 3% fee Sportbilly, why can't they just get it right the first time. I have an A&L current account as well. It's been a lot of hassle, but if it gets sorted eventually, surely it'll all be worth it????

Proud to have dealt with my debts!
  • I dunno, I'll probably end up spending the equivalent of 3% of my BT on the 0845 numbers...
  • After 3 sets of forms signed and sent back I finally got my Santander card. They gave me a 3800 limit and had completed both of the balance transfers I requested, one for 1370 and one for 2331. When applied to the account with the 3% fee totalled 3812.03. hmmmm... phoned them and they have reduced the balance to 3800 but I await the first statement to see how much of mess this turns into. Shambles!

Bloody hell 400 posts on how crap they are.

I will be clearing the balance and getting out fast.
