  • Well received the card as well as pin now. Although they could have balance transferred another £340.00 to get it to 95% of the total. I suppose I can give them a ring to sort that ouot though. All in all though I haven't had a problem with them and I wouldnt say my credit record is spotless. They are certainly going to help me not pay 27.9% to barclaycard!

I'm losing the will to live :D
Got my signed form returned today with a direct debit form!
Why return my signed form? Seems it's the only way they can keep track of your application.......very strange!
I completed the direct debit online so maybe it was just a signature they wanted?
Sent both forms back, lets see how long it takes now!!

Did you mean to within £50 of 95% of your credit limit ?

No, within £50 of the credit limit - more than 99%.

Why did you do that .What do you expect Santander to do now....dunno if anyone else has done this before .Be interesting to hear what happened . I s'pose the original idea of the 95% is to allow a space for interest to be added on but with the 0%-0 card that won't happen for almost 12 months

YorkshireBoy quizzed them on their "maximum BT" amounts and reported back on the stoozing site that their systems are geared up to BT 95% of the limit including a 3% BT fee - so even though there isn't a fee, people are getting about 92-93% depending on any rounding on the BT amount they're offered.

    EDIT: Maximum BT = (Credit limit * 95%) / 103%

Hmm, any suggestions then? Wait and see what happens or make a payment to take it to 95%?

Edit - can't see where a particular percentage of credit limit is referred to in T & C.

What % are you at just now . I'd be frightened that taking it to more than 95% resulted in Santander deciding to do something that jeopardised the credit limit or Zero Fee structure . If I wanted to try that I'd phone them and ask and get the name and ID of whoever you spoke to if they said over 95% was OK

It's at about 99% but there will be a payment to it on Monday which will take it to about 97.5%.

I applied for the BT over the phone, not online, and asked how much I could transfer. So the transfer amount was what the Santander rep said was ok, not an amount that I had specifically asked for. (I appreciate that this is Santander so normal rules don't necessarily apply......)

As I posted above though, I can't see anything in the T & C that prescribes a percentage of credit limit for BTs.
