Hi
can you give more details about this? I am currently booked to go to NYC on the 29th March, with BA... and we have the W New York booked through priceline name your own price. I have been dreaming about the possibility of having to loose our booking. Is the priceline refund just for flights or affected hotel bookings?
thanks
The refund was for hotel bookings. Just call them (0207 1368462) and explain the situation. You might have to explain it a few times, they were not aware of the strike when I called, but they took details of the flight number and dates and processed the refund whilst I was on the phone. However, remember that they do not have to do it, so you might need to do some sweet talking!
If you do get to go, I have stayed at the W and really liked it. I think it went downhill for a while but has been refurbished and seems to have picked up again. The only thing to be aware of is that the rooms are small, but it is New York ... and rooms are small in NYC!Gone ... or have I?0 -

Maybe BA can and will operate loads of flights during the strikes - but we'll never book our flights with them as a result of the happenings over the last few months. I'd doubt that we'll be alone in that. It may not be the most logical or rational thing - but from here on out I'll hear BA and I think strikes and cancelled flights.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Hi Katie! I totally understand your frustration.
Unless, or until BA actually cancel any flights, that is likely to be the flight status showing on all flights.

Completely agree with you.The Summer Holiday of a Lifetime0 -
These strikes are so annoying! We all work hard to save up to go on holiday and then the prospect of not getting there hangs over us.
I fly to NYC on the 13th April so will get there ok, but if more action takes place after the 14th, may not get back home on time. Not that i would complain being stuck in NYC for an extra day or two!
I m flying again with BA in October...hope this carry on with the strikes doesn't carry on throughout the year.
Aren't the BA staff who are going on strike just shooting themselves in the foot?! Striking causes customers to lose confidence in them, and so they will probably look towards another more reliable airline. Less customers flying with BA = less staff needed = redunancies?0 -

Absolutely.
The term 'turkeys voting for Christmas' springs to mind.0 -
I would definitely hold fire cancelling your flights, especially if you are going to New York. I expect BA will be operating most of their trans-atlantic flights. If you are booked to fly on the B777 they will almost certainly be flying. You can check which type of aircraft is operating the route on the BA website. Don't give up on BA. I think they are trying hard to throw off the strangle hold the union has on the company. From what I hear on the news the cabin crew strike is totally unjustified and it's only proper that the company doesn't given in to bullly boy 1970's unionism. Anyhow, you might be served by one of the lovely pilots who have volunteered to act as cabin crew!;)0

I called BA a few weeks ago and asked what we should do if a strike affected our flights. I was advised not to arrange other flights as we wouldn't be refunded, but to call them if we did find we were affected and they would make alternative arrangements.0

Wish they'd announce so I can try to sort out my plans. We're off on honeymoon on the 29th to Vegas and home again on the 15th from Miami - just heard theyre taking about more strikes from the 14th of April so we could get hit both ways!
It's never ending and my wedding is less than 2 weeks away. Really could do without the stress......................Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0
