I am currently on holiday in America and flew out with BA, my return flight home was set to leave Las Vegas on 21st March. What shall I do from this end?? Does anyone have any clue on wether they will be more likely to keep the long hauls going rather than the short?? Aggro!
Thanks in advance0 -

Have you checked that your contact details are up to date on their website? If so, they should be in touch with you when they know whether your flight is definitely cancelled. Alternatively, if you wish to rearrange your flight just in case you could call them.Gone ... or have I?0 -
So they've announced the March dates, and have said that there may be further action after 14 April - but is there an 'end date' based on this particular ballot, or can they continue to use this indefinitely?
We are due to travel to Vegas mid May0 -
Good news is I'm flying off on 21/3 on Easyjet, not BA.
Bad news is, I'm off to Athens. That is, if Greek air traffic controllers and the rest of the country are on strike the day I'm going there. Greece has had a couple of days when everything's come to a halt; latest day was yesterday. I called the hotel I've decided to stay at in Athens and their rackrate is the same as booking with Venere the cheapest quote I got from TravelSupermarket. So I won't book it in case I'm unable to go. Due to the problems down there, not surprisingly the hotel have vacant rooms. When I spoke to the receptionist, I asked him about a possible strike the day I go there and he said:
"Never on Sunday"!:rotfl:0 -

No, there is no end date. Unfortunately it is just a case of seeing what happens ... and hoping that common sense prevails.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Unite's Len McCluskey said no action would occur over Easter as he wanted "families to be able to plan their travel arrangements in confidence".
Well, we're going away over Easter, having booked in the school holidays - which start on 26th March for my children. Our travel date is Monday 29th March, so we will be away for the Easter weeked and return the following Tuesday.
Now, by my reckoning Mr McCluskey's assurance made a few weeks ago is just a little bit untrue.0 -
We booked in September last year to fly to Boston at Easter. As teachers we have to forward plan.
When Unison stated that they wouldn't be striking during the Easter holidays we were relieved until we realised that the holidays are not the same for all schools this year...and we are due to fly out on the 27th.
If we worked for the LEA 4 miles away we would have been fine as they don't finish until the 1/4.
We shall have to wait and see like everyone else in the same boat...sorry, plane!0 -
For anybody who has bookings through Priceline affected by the strike, if you call them they will give a refund. I think this is very generous as the bookings are non refundable/ transferable.Gone ... or have I?0

I think you will find that it will be the militants and the BASSA / Unite lot that will be ruined.......... BA can and will operate loads of flights during the strikes (only 63% voted for strikes ) and many many cabin crew who voted for industrial action will not actually do it.If this strike goes ahead it is going to absouletely ruin BA, they may not go DOwn under as the government probably wont allow to do that but never the less I dont think it will ever be the same for BA. I cant believe the dates they are proposing so close to Easter when most people go on holidays.0 -

Hi
can you give more details about this? I am currently booked to go to NYC on the 29th March, with BA... and we have the W New York booked through priceline name your own price. I have been dreaming about the possibility of having to loose our booking. Is the priceline refund just for flights or affected hotel bookings?
thanks0
