Looks like Ba flight to LCA on Sunday 21 March will be operated by a chartered aircraft, so you may be lucky.

  • We were flying to Paphos but maybe Larnaca is an option instead, all the Paphos flights are cancelled this weekend. We nearly booked the Larnaca flight too! It might only mean changing the car hire arrangements.
    Thanks!

Ryanair are going to operate a flight for BA during the strike, wonder if BA are paying with a pre-paid master card?

  • Hey there,

I work for BA and just want to say sorry to any of you who may be affected by the Unite strike. Just an FYI that BA have posted a message from Willie Walsh (on the BA Youtube channel & ba.com/strike) apologising for the disruption some of you may face and explaining contingency plans. Thank you all for your support and understanding during this time.

I don't think that you'll find much (any ?) support, warmth or understanding for the strikers on here, from fare paying passengers.

I would assume that if you are being directed to a message from Willie Walsh that Christina_BA probably isn't a striker.
No reliance should be placed on the above.

Sorry, but I have zero sympathy for the strikers - in fact I'm not sorry at all. I feel sorry for their families who will undoubtably suffer and I feel for those who have booked flights/holidays which will likely face disruption.

Mind you, I stopped flying BA years ago - there's far better more reliable and competitively priced airlines out there.

It does interest me that, those passengers who are affected by the strike are making their points politely, as are the BA staff who are continuing to work. However, on this and other forums that I frequent, over and over again I see examples of striking staff being incredibly rude. Perhaps they should consider whether a customer facing role is the right place for them to be working?
    Gone ... or have I?
