People are fighting for their wages, terms and conditions and livelihood, and you are blaming them, that you can't go on holiday. ??
Unbelievable.
you silly silly silly little girl.
No, you are the silly silly girl.
Those striking today are nothing short of inconsiderate, brain washed pawns in a game of BA v Unite.
I hope they all lose their jobs as a result of this. The Summer Holiday of a Lifetime0 -

Exactly!
The only people I feel for are the thousands of hard working people all over the country who work so hard to be able to get away and now their plans are ruined.2010 is the year I'm going to sort my life out! :j

.
Just for the record.
You make your own bed, and then lie in it.
Air travel is a perfect example of where the customer (i.e the person that pays your wages) has a very large choice of service provider -- and many, many people will actively look to avoid paying YOUR wage in the future.
& the only person to blame is YOU.**
** assuming that you are a BA striker.0 -
I have sympathy for the staff and union in all of this .. they are just being abused by Willie Walsh and his cohorts.
He makes me cringe, smarmy little git.0 -

There are people who save up for years to go on holiday or visit distant family and who stand to lose potentially thousands of pounds through this strike action. It's not just about missing a holiday, it's about non-refundable accommodation, tours, etc. or having to book last-minute elsewhere at over-inflated prices. Mind you, the childish and gloating posts you made before Christmas show the contempt you hold customers in and suggest that strike action, for you, isn't just about terms and conditions but about getting one over on the "self-loading freight". Sorry, but those posts you made in December lost BA cabin crew any sympathy from me.3-6 Month Emergency Fund #14: £9000 / £10,0000 -
I am totally disgusted with the unions and very disappointed by the striking BA cabin crew who are following the bunch of muppets.
I booked my flights to travel out on business a few weeks ago and then found out my return flight would be affected. I paid to change my flight to the day after the strikes to avoid the chance my flight is cancelled. Today I found out my flight was cancelled again. I've had to book with another airline at considerable cost to get back instead. I cannot risk another cancellation with BA and miss out on spending time with my family.
The thing that irks me...really irks me is that Unite & the striking staff don't seem to understand that their world has changed. The union is simply trying to flex their muscles using their member's as pawns. This is not about a big company cutting costs to boost profits so their chairman & shareholders can get a nice bonus. BA is losing money full stop. Not just a few quid but millions. So change is inevitable. The mangement either take action now or the market takes action for them! At which point EVERYONE loses their job!
To illustrate why I say the world has changed, here is my story which is probably far from unique. A few years ago I flew with BA business class. It was always a very pleasent experience....thanks! However, nowadays my company won't allow anyone to fly business class. Cost is king. If I can get from A > B using Ryanair, my company would tell me to go that way. The only reason I booked BA this time was cos it was the cheapest. BA staff could be the best trained, best looking, juggling clowns and offer free massages....my company would still make me fly Ryanair!
Personally I thought the plans originally laid out by Willie Walsh were pretty damn generous. One less member of crew on a 747 and the cabin crew "director" was expected to pitch in. A pay freeze for existing staff and new recruits would be paid less. Not ideal but then given the fact my company's in the process of laying off hundreds of staff I think in comparison, BA staff should think themselves pretty damn lucky!!!
So if any BA cabin staff are here reading on their day off, sorry as a customer I am firmly on the management's side on this and from speaking to my friends so far I have not heard anyone yet who is sympathetic. For your own sake get back to work or you may find yourself minus your £30k a year job to show me where the exits are and push a trolley of crap food around!0 -
On a positive note, reports from Heathrow from the media and on other forums do seem positive. It is very disappointing for those that have had to make other plans, but for those that are still travelling, things appear to be running smoothly.Gone ... or have I?0

Why did you have to pay DigitalJedi? If you were due to fly (even one way) on one of the affected days, you should be able to reschedule for free.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Because the only flight they had a reciprocial arrangement for lands too late and I can't get a train back home. So I'd have to stay overnight in London which I don't want to do. I just want to get home and see the family.0

We have annual travel insurance that expires next month. We're flying out with BA later this year - holiday already booked.
How can we get travel insurance that will cover us for later this year when the renewal date is due? I think we may have problems.0
