Evening all!
Spag bol for dinner, have managed to hide carrot, and a yellow pepper in there too - DD2 doesn't like pepper, well she *thinks* she doesn't. Eats it happily once hidden...
DD2 took cheese & coleslaw sarnie, fruit shoot and a brownie for her packed lunch, couldn't tempt her with any fruit todayI had cheese & onion and a RTC This Water. Suspect I was seduced by the lable - "this water is made from fruit and clouds..." Which leads me on to a conversation H2B and I had the other evening. If we "marketed" our OS dinners in the way supermarkets do, would more people jump on board?? For example, tonights dinner for Spag Bol, you would say. Tonight we are having Aberdeen Angus mince, slowly simmered in an Italian inspired reduction of plump plum tomatoes and finely chopped herbs.. this is not just food, it's yellow stickered, OS food!
Re BF: Three children all sort of BF. DD2 was premature, as I am sure I have said before. After breastfeeding DS and DD1, I was keen to do the same. However Mother Nature dictated she would be born at 25 weeks, weighing 1lb 3oz. So I had to express as she couldn't even take a bottle and was fed through a line. Her first feed was just 1ml  Just as well really, as I had a lot of trouble expressing at such an early stage. But go with whatever you want - I hadn't even considered bottles with DS and we "clicked" right away. There are people who don't and don't beat yourself up about it, being a mum means you feel guilty about something a lot anyway :rotfl:0 -
Hi, just about to start the washing up (boo hiss!) but wondered if I could ask you a question? Do any of you use internet grocery shopping and, if so, which one? I'm wondering whether to give it a try (and use something like the cashback schemes on Quidco) but am a bit unsure. We did it once before whilst I was pg with DS but it was £5 delivery, the food didn't have a long life on it and we got loads of carrier bags (we're quite green and don't have carrier bags).
Re BF, I LOVED doing it but it was so painful to start with I almost gave up. So glad I kept going as it's free, you can do it anywhere and I think it gives the lo the immunity s/he needs. However, having said that, I couldn't feed DS for long (only 5 months whereas with DD I fed her for a year) as with another child to look after I just wasn't producing enough milk so I put him onto formula and it was the best thing I could have done. His weight went up, he was more contented, slept better and all in all was easier PLUS DH could feed him.
As others have said, it really is a matter of personal choice and doing what you feel happy with.
OK, must go and wash up .... those dishes won't do themselves will they :rolleyes:Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Grrr it's my own fault for watching! I started with My Big Fat Diet while free stepping on the Wii. There's lots of sound advice, but what really irritated me (apart from them having MASSIVE baskets of veg, then shot of them with paper carriers that obv don't have anything in them! Weight free shopping? Bring it on!) most was that Matt Dawson made them a gorgeous looking Sunday Dinner with half the calories. Fine. But the stuff he made the gravy with (mushrooms and onions etc) he sieved out, the mushrooms were nowhere to be seen on the plate. I do hope he did something with them! What waste!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
Trying not to waste food!:j

Sorry, i am a bit excited:D:oA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Lol calm down, you'll do yourself a mischief! Congratulations :beer:I'm not surprised it's got a kick in it if you put a scotch bonnet in it! Do you have a linky-link to the recipe or have I missed out on not reading through the whole thread? I did 35 mins of Wii fit and burnt 150 cals, and then watched the crochet DVD and am considering giving up already lol
