SKY HD Offer?
Comments
-
Just spoke to the Scottish office and questioned it all as I have had 3 missed calls from them in the past 2 weeks and was concerned they wanted to offer it to me but I would miss out as they called when I'm at work.
The guy said it is another company employed by Sky that's phoning a 'set' amount and type of person (ie what they currently have on sky). I asked if I could take-them up on the offer (I said I was saving them a phone call as I phoned them.lol), but he said he couldn't and just to wait until the other company call back which he assured me was inevitable as they select particular customers to target.
Apparantly they are trying to get people to switch over as Sky launch their 3D channels in April.
I guess if it's for you...it won't go by you!! just a waiting game.0 -
Hot Deals UK saying this has now expired however, still taking the orders over the phone

Just called and said husband had recieved call when I was out, adviser went away for ages and said that it was an outbound call and that as we didnt take it up then we could no longer have the deal!! We could have free box but £60 install and full HD subs at £10 per month. Told him not to bother, am moving soon, will simply cancel our contract when we move.0

I recently received an offer via e-mail for a free HD Box + Free Set up but £10 subscription fee applies. I signed up for this offer but i have just been hearing about the free subscription fee offer now. So I called Sky and told a little white lie, saying I had recently recevied a phone call but couldnt take the call at the time. And that I had later, received the e-mail offer. I told them that I was confused by the e-mail offer and had signed up for it thinking this is what Sky was calling me about. First the person told me that there was no record of a call against the account. Then he gave me some line about that the account is in my husbands name and because there is no password set on the account he cant give me any information. He said my husband should call 08442 414141 and select option 4 and then option 4 again, then select select option 3. That would be the option to set a password. Once he had done that then he should call them. Well I called the number to set the password and it was totally bogus! Selecting the options I was told to select, took me to the "moving house" section and nowhere was an option to set a password!
Should I just shut up and be happy that we received the free box & installation offer or should I try again to get a free or reduced subscription offer? Has anyone who has already signed up for the HD box & installation actually been able to get the 12 month free subscription offer?
Should I try to phone again0 -
Some advice please....
After attempting (and failing) to blag the free HD offer i agreed to pay £29+(30 install) for HD with no HD subs on my existing package (new one year contract commitment)
Having got a letter through today they are giving me an 'A Grade' box, whcih having checked means a refurbished box! At no point was this discussed when i was ordering it, although it is covered by warranty it is 'used' and has previously been 'faulty' apparantly!
Where do i stand here?
I called them and they basically tried to fob me off initially saying it was new, but after 'checking with their manager' admitted it was not and explained the above. I said i wanted a new one and they wouldn't have it.
Do i have any come backs? :mad:0 -

surely as with any new purchase you would have a cooling off period ie 7-14 days. read up and know your rights and stand firm0 -

I don't mind as I'm not thinking of leaving them. I feel they are better than another digital supplier.
I've been with them for over 6 years now.0 -

Not sure about the phone options bit, but the Sky rep was not giving you 'some line'. Without a password setup on the account, they can only talk to the account holder.0
