Morning All, hope everyone is well
Hello daily newbies :hello:
Redruby - hope you enjoyed the first night in your new house.
Snow is still thawing here :jso this morning I am off to little town to get some new books from the library and a little mooch around the shops - quick look in DP's, £stretcher then a couple of the charity shops. Havnt got much money but just need to get out on my own which I havn't done for ages.
Once home has paperwork to do :rolleyes:and some housework. All ironing is up straight :j
Had a quick look through the Hairy Bikers Mum knows best book last night, I like it it is a right mix match of recipes. There are real basics such as yorkshire puddings then intricate curries, there are a lot of basic recipes though so not sure would recommend to all the brill cooks on here iykwim.
Anyway time is running out and my hair is still wet.....
Have a good one.x0 -

Well that's my brood de-cluttered to school and college. We have more snow forecast for tonight so Im hoping it does not materialise as I too was very fed up having them all at home for a prolonged period of time.
I need to get organised. I have washing to do and tidying up. Not sure what else - I need to go to Post Office but wonder if the paths will have thawed enough.
Squeena - lovely doggies x
have a good day xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Morning All :hello:,
MSD - Thanks for thinking of me, bless you you're a lovely lady :A
Welcome to any newbies, you'll love it here everyone is very nice!
Well, drama this morning! I only fell over on the ice! Dammit it seems even my walking boots were not enough grip this morning. DH is not going to be impressed especially as he knows I only got out of the car and walked to make a point because we had a bit of a barney this morningHey ho, at least I didn't break anything - I went over on my bum - plenty of cushioning see...
OS wise, I really need to tackle some ironing when I get home tonight, but I tend to go and have a lay down when I get in otherwise I'd be asleep before 7 every night. Have soup for lunch today (from a tin I'm afraid all - too icky to faff with making my own atm) and DH has the last of the chicken from Sunday in sandwiches. Not sure what to do for tea tonight, really don't fancy anything and when I ask DH I always get the same answer, "I don't mind" aaaaaaaarrrrrggggggggggggghh another decision for me to make!!!
Just re-read this post - blimey I'm grumpy today aren't I?!?!! :rotfl:
Have a lovely day all, hugs all round xxSometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand,

Good morning everyone. Overslept this morning and have a really busy day:eek: but still have time for the MSE boards
I'd better start by introducing myself I guess. Despite appearances, my name is Ruth. BenW is an abbreviation for my favourite mountain, Ben Wyvis, which until last year had completely defeated me (I dont like heights and the path is precariously close to the edge). Anyway, last summer, we decided to tackle it again - nearly killed me! If the walk didnt the midges had a good try! So we set off and discovered they had changed the path so it doesnt go quite so close to the edhe any more, so I made it all the way to the top - and then realised I had to walk down again too. There is now a giant staircase across what had been scree and slippy to walk on. The steps make a huge difference, which is why I made it to the top. We mistimed it a bit though and descended when the midges rose and I was bitten about 80 times! Didnt half make me ill too.
So, what's in store today? Not much in the way of OS unfortunately. It is our dream to have a small holding if we are not too old by the time we realise that dream, so OS-ing is right up our street. However, at the moment, we still have two demanding jobs to hold down (one each for me and DH) and they take up too much time and energy! DH has to travel 70 miles each way to work at the moment, so sometimes he stays overnight instead - saves time, money and damage to the environment.
I shall be travelling 12 miles for a meeting this morning at 11am (and still have to get bathed and dressed!) and then this evening, I chair a local self help meeting and we are having our annual social event tonight, which means I'm going to have to fork out for a chinese buffet meal when I have perfectly good food in the house - what a chore:p
To add to the dog theme, we used to have a goldie and I swear she could tell the time. In the evenings we wouold get up from time to time, to make a cuppa or something, and she would just lie there. But when we got up to go to bed, she knew and would get up and take herself off to bed too. I would love another dog, but we are out so much and away so often it would hardly be fair. Perhaps when we make the dream a reality.....
Well ladies (and gents if there are any), I hope you all have a good day and I will be back later to see how you are all getting on.
