Good Morning chums, well hopefully if I can get out of my road I shall be doing the school run this morning. I have no animals only my DGChildren ,the three youngest I take to school three days a week.
So my little animals are three gorgeous little boys of Jack 9,Henry 8 and 5 year old Mikey. They are great fun and hopefully they will all have dry noses this morning and be tail wagging.
Gentle Jack is the serious one, and very pedantic, but loves a hug.
Henry is the ruffian, think 'Just William' and your there, the face of an angel but full of mischief ,even the teachers say he can charm the birds out of the trees with his angelic smile. He is a rascal at times and totally fearless to the extent that my hair goes grey when ever I see him climbing.
Whilst Mikey is a smiley one who has a wicked sense of humour, and is spoilt by everyone he meets with his sunny outlook on life .His cup is not only full its runs over at times. These three little boys are my youngest grandchildren and keep me on my toes. We shall play 'dragons this morning on the way to school to see who can blow the biggest cloud of steam in the cold air. They are very invventive lads and ask the oddest questions at times, but give me a great deal of pleasure. i.e. are the stars holes in the sky where the sun shines through at night ? well they could be I suppose if you think of it logically as a five year old.Their Mum told me when she was that age that when it rains it was the sky crying because the sun had runaway.Must be in their genes I guess.
Well when I get home I hope to do a bit of decluttering of my spare bedroom as the dustmen are due today.Hope everyone has a great day and keeps wrapped up warm
Take care if walking in the snow
Cheers JackieO0 -
Remmie they are crazy aren't they? And they never leave your side, ever.
Hardup Hester I might just take you up on that offer. Though I'm sure you won't appreciate the £80+ a month it costs to feed them all  :rotfl:
I agree Mastiffs are probably the most protective breed about but unlike most breeds they need the most socialisation. Luna is my first mastiff and she is completely different from my Shepherd who is very friendly with everyone and everything. Luna is dog aggressive and it's got to the point where I'm now in talks with a behaviourist
I've been to training classes etc. but they're absolutely useless.
Here are 2 pics, I hope I do them properly...

Good morning everyone:wave:
I'm a happy old Thriftlady today (I usually am;)) as all my kids are back at school today. I've only had one day (last Friday) when they were all there since they broke up for Christmas. It's been a long holiday
The kids are eating toast and leftover pancakes for breakfast.
Lunchboxes have ham sandwiches, flapjacks and fruit. I shall have some leftovers.
Tbh I'm sick of all the leftovers that seem to be accumulating in my fridge. I tried to give OH the last leek and mackerel tart for his lunch today but he prefers sandwiches as they are 'easier to eat in a meeting'. I think he shouldn't be eating lunch and working at the same time. What happened to a lunchbreak ? Anyway I have leftover tart, leftover ham and bean stew, leftover lentil bolognese and leftover soup in the fridge. I really need to start cooking less.
Supper will be sausage stovies made with sausage meat. I was thinking I'd brown the sausagemeat crumbling it up as I go and then add sliced potatoes and a bit of water, cover and let it all cook. Not sure how authentic it'll be speaking as an Englishwoman. I'll do some carrots and swede to go with it. I'm going to have some cabbage too so that I can make bubble and squeak for my lunch the next day with the leftovers.
Other OS things today include doing the laundry, a teeny spot of ironing and making some more bread. I may make some teacakes for the kids when they get home.0 -
Morning Everyone
Welcome Flyladies :hello: and other newbies  . Personally I like to see a livelier thread, and the odd small piccy, however, in respect to everyone we keep them occasional, small and don't repeat them in quotes, (it also keeps the BG's off our backs:D, they try to ignore us now;), we have had our moments and don't wish a return to that:D) however, don't expect me to suddenly decide I like housework - not a chance:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Not a lot of OS here today, Dr. for blood test due to being refused by blood donor for lower than their high standard of iron., then dentist at 10am and this pm we have a local Planning meeting re an illegal settlement on Green Belt near us. Yesterday I got nominated for the 5 minutes talk we are allowed:eek::eek::eek: Don't mind really for I will keep it short, on track and not show bias. Dinner tonight will be left over chicken from one I got from the Co-op yesterday which was del.
Better go and get dressed as no brekky due to it being a fasting test:rolleyes:
Re a dog - Loads road here walk theirs with buggy/scooters so it is quite normal.
Take care - DG
p.s. Great story re the gkids Jackie.
Belated :bdaycake: to some Imissed over the weekend
R-Ruby hope the move is going well
I know that the blood thing is not a worrying problem, but mentioned it to Dr and he decided he wanted to give me a blood MOT as hadn't had one for a couple of years, so all things being checked. He is also sending me for a chest x-ray as I have a annoying cough which has been with me for a while, but again don't expect to find anything.Member #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
...Been looking at new cars, OH 14 year old fiesta is about done in. What with scrappage and 0% over 3 years, why not get a new one.... Seems like the best time, but what to get?...
We did this recently - scrapped my 12yo Hyundai Accent, and planning to sell OH's 7yo Vectra as he's just got a new company car & we're now waiting for my new Alfa Romeo to arrive
We're off to the Town Hall too today, to book our wedding :j Have spent have the night wrestling with the guest list!0 -
Woops sorry donny-gal I didn't realise they'd be so big

Thriftlady I know where yoyu're coming from with leftovers. I have periods of deciding to cook less so that there isn't any leftovers, or we've had a week where hardly any of the children are in for meals, but I can guarantee that I'll be feeding my lot plus some friends the first night that I do it! I get fed up of putting single portion meals in the freezer too.0

Your grandchildren sound gorgeous, JackieO

Hope you manage to walk to school and spend some time with them.
I've just put the wm load on the rack to dry and there is a bit of ironing to do. The thought of doing it is there but the energy is lacking
I'm thinking a cup of tea sounds a lot better than household stuff

Hi, I popped in yesterday from the Flying thread and have come back in again today if that's OK. Really looking forward to having the house to myself today although I'm going to be busy. Just decluttered DH to work and DS to nursery (DS goes to DH's work nursery!) so just got to get DD to school and the house is mine til 4.00 :j I should be having breakfast as sat here in my PJs and dressing gown but have promised myself 5 mins as DS was a bit of a handful to get ready this morning
I'll be working in the kitchen this morning - got Pigpen's list all ready to attack! Got someone coming at 11 to buy DS's highchair which we don't use any more so am slowly shifting stuff (sold his old buggy yesterday). I've promised our dog Pip that I'll give her a good walk today; it'll do me good to get some proper exercise I'm sure. Got 2 typing jobs to do too and want to try to make sure I have some 'me time' (whatever that is lol!)
Best go now but see you later.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Morning all (flylady sneeks in)
A lot of early risers on here.
Just had a peek round the curtains and it looks as if the thaw is continuing :T except the pavements will be a bit tricky till all the ice goes.
donny-gal - I used to get sent away regularly for 'low iron count' but their level is higher than that which would be a problem IYSWIM so prob nothing to worry about.
SunnyGirl - I have some spare curtain material from a friend to make 'window dressing' not sure how long ago
mioliere - I'm sure the house will look great when the work is done, but rather you than me
Sequeena - Oh good, I'm not the only one who gets 'stuck' on here:rotfl:
As a 'solo lady' I love the picture of you all sending your families off now things are returning to normal with a sigh of relief as you get your houses back0
