    Thanks Jackieglasgow :D

Dustykitten - I used to do pilates at home from various videos but then my Mum gave me a pilates machine. It is a beast of a thing but I have the space. It's really good as it's resistance training which is perfect for my own needs (not harsh on bones/back/neck etc -I have fibromyalgia so can't do high impact ). It gets really really top results only I have let myself go recently..... (redundancy)

I am going to do it 4 times a week (the toning routine), and fit in a bit of bouncing too on the cardio board. This post may not make much sense until you look up the machine - Mum got it from QVC and it actually is excellent. If she took it back , I would spend the hundreds on a new one - and that's saying something. I believe you can do gym classes with these machines, and they are something silly like £25 an hour! Aero pilates .

Good thing is I know i will have recults already within a few workouts :D
There is a video presentation you can watch. Not very moneysaving, but it was for me as I didn't buy it!

Edited to add my OS - Soup was gorgeous and spicy! Cumin was a good choice I think but boy it warms one up!

Have taken a gas reading to call tomorrow and check and see if I am running up a massive bill (last time was £140 in credit), have to call the builder quote tomorrow, and also am going to join the library in the next couple of days . So will be saving a fortune by borrowing books :D

Scared about ringing the gas people...... My heating has been on full blast:D:o

Took dd back to Uni yesterday, mentioned this earlier. We did a shop for her. Campus shop is pricy and limited. She organises Tesco home delivery for her flat, but it's 10 miles away. Sainsbury's is a bus and a walk with her bags, so was pleased for me to take her.

She phoned a while ago to say that she had made her first batch of mushroom soup. I suggested to my sis that she bought dd a stick blender for Christmas and dd was delighted, as she hadn't thought to put it on her list. I wrote the recipe for her while she was doing her shift driving, along with recipes for leek and potato soup, chocolate blancmange, instructions to make custard (as blancmange) and also hummus, which she has trouble in justifying the expense. We added chickpeas to her shopping list and she said she had made some hummus as well this evening. I think the recipe I gave her needs a bit of tweaking, but she seemed very pleased.

She really seems to be doing OK with her food, just needs some suggestions, as shopping, fridge and freezer space are limited. The lads in the flat eat meat. She is veggie. The girls in the flat are allegedly 'pot noodle' and have trouble boiling water. My dd isn't daft. She knows that if she saves ££ on food, then there's more for other exciting things! I paid for the groceries, but she bought her own cider!

I was a good girl tonight - at least for a while! I did the freestep on the Wii while I watched the diet programme, then afterwards cleared the last couple of chocs from the box as it was looking a bit untidy!

Help please - M&S 3 for £10 meat, is it worth it? I usually buy meat from a very good butchers locally but not accessible in the snow.

I did it, i often get their chickens anyway but this time got a little joint of beef (which was beautiful), meatballs (enough for at least 2 meals for us) and some breaded chicken for quick dinners. I think it's a decent deal

Still cold and icy here, although there was some thaw on to-day.....can now see grass, so that's a plus.

Dogs....We acquired a border collie puppy in September and she is a demon! She managed to open my purse this evening and the money was strewn all over the place. She is very lovable but inclined to bite at us when playing...any hints of getting rid of the habit, don't want to have to muzzle her, but can't take any chances with my grandchildren. We have had border collies before, but they were mostly outside so no house problems with them, OH won't even hear of her going out into her insulated kennel until weather warms up a bit.

We had steak, mushrooms and onions with mash for dinner, then the last of our apples stewed with some cream...nice.

Csarina, glad that your trip has gone so well, is it to-morrow you see the cottage....sounds good.

Hope that everyone who is feeling under the weather improves soon.

Hugs to all who need one for whatever reason

Keep warm, stay safe, sleep well

  • I use the water from the condenser in my TD, it's de=-ionised apparently, and smells nice too between the washing powder smell and the TD sheets!

I`ve never used anything but plain old water and occasionally the water from the tumble dryer but rarely use that these days.

Is comfort vapouresse thicker than water - sorry not sure what its like so i`m not sure how to help. If its as thin as water it should work in any steam iron.
