Been another one of those days, so much planned & so little done. Suppose I have the evening yet. Steak for tea if they defrost on time, if not fish or something then steaks tomorrow. DP awake again after another 4 hours sleep this afternoon, starting to irritate me but think partly BD arrived with the lack of work. Ice melting slowly, other parts of county have had snow so I'm counting lucky stars.

Afternoon all
I am loving having so many on the thread - loads to read when I should have been working - kept flicking on for updates:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Anyway home now and am doing an easy tea of jacket pots with chicken curry as I am going to my first knitting class tonight. Wish I had done this years ago when my kids were little but at least I will be able to knit by the time I have grandkids! Not that my DD's are showing any sign of wanting any yet!
My dog is a lovely natured old xlabrador. She is a very old lady now at 16 and is very deaf. She is very sweet though and I'm sure she has a bit of Alzeimers as she wanders into rooms and then looks completely at a loss as to why she is there - bless!
Anyway must get on as I have to be at my class by 5.45 - oh excited!!!!
Have a good evening all
x"Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to........"Dieting ........... is no piece of cake!!!!:D

Well we are here after a reasonable journey. We were up and away by 8.20am. M1, M18 onto the A1 where we stopped for a comfort break at Barsndale Bar. We stopped at Washington Services for an early lunch break and decided to make a detour to have a look at the cottage from the outside. It was easy to fids and although it is obviously smaller than the house we are in room size wise, the wood burner in the sitting room will easily keep the house warm most of the time. There is a untility room which houses the oil boiler which will take the chest freezer. The kitchen is as I expected a galley, difficult to see cupboards etc, the work tops could do with some restoration. There is a porch type building which will take the dining table and chairs, at the moment it is screened off with a curtain, but the curtain I have at the front door will fit to draw round the door and window you can see in the picture. The actual door into the house is to the side. We were not able to see the bedrooms as all of them had heavy curtains at the windows…..so we have to wait until tomorrow. It will be a very different life to the one we lead now, the sitting room looks out over the field to Traprain Law, just now it is covered with snow.
As we turned off the A1 a really strange thing happened…….it had been raining and the sun came out and a rainbow appeared right over where we were going, does anyone have an idea what this might mean????
We travelled into Haddington and had a look round, we wanted a street map of the town, but could not find one, we called in to see a friend we knew when we lived here. One thing we do know the coats we bought are wind proof, it was howling a gale but we were both toast warm. What was Kwik Save years ago is now Aldi…and we also found that the Asda at Dunbar is right off the roundabout on the A1, so easy to get to.
We are now at our friends, have had a very nice restorative cuppa and scones with cream.
It was evident from the piles of snow at the side of the road that the snow has been very bad up here. Some roads are still blocked, the A66 beyond Bowes is still blocked and not expected to be open for some time.
I managed to find a crochet hook at the little shop I used to go to in Haddington. There are 5 Charity shops in the town and not one of them had a crochet hook!!!! I am off to download the instructions for granny’s squares, I have some wool to use up and if my machine is going to be packed up U need something to do with my hands..
More news tomorrow………Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Afternoon everyone
Not much os for me today as ds2(9) woke up at 2am and hasnt gone back to sleep yet. I tried to catnap from thereon in with little success so feeling very tired today. He still has the pins in his leg and due to him having adhd isn't using up any energy. I can't even take him out in his wheelchair as it just too dangerous with the icy pavements.
Lunch was egg mayo sandwiches. Dinner will be pasta with bolognaise sauce. wm will be put on in mo as need to catch up with the ever increasing pile. Also need to check out a quote for car ins so will do that through Quidco.
I have really enjoyed reading through the thread. Hugs to anyone who needs or wants one ((((())))).
Take Care
