As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

SunnyGirl - Thinking of you and your family as ever sweetie. And I know you will be supporting your husband and everyone, so you know where I am if you need to talk.
Mioliere - Am really glad you are seeing the Dr, you really shouldn't still be feeling this rough still.
Halight - You can join me anytime!
remmie - Darn it, wouldn't you like a move down south??
Cranky - Hope you feel better today and that the house elfs first day back at school went well.
Lowesy - I was only thinking about you the other day and hoping you were Ok, so glad to hear all is well.. sorry it's been such a worrying time for you.
Jinkypinks - if you think I am falling for that 'If only I was closer' excuse you can think again young lady! :rotfl:
Redruby - Hope the move went well honey.
Funfair - I am sure it IS the lack of scottish something that is making Jinks behave so strangely!
Gemma - That was a very thoughtful present from your sister.
Haribo - love your stories

To all the lovely flyladies - I do not think anyone meant their comments about a busy thread or being confused with new names to be unwelcoming to ANY of you. It's great to have you all with us but I remember when I joined flyladies I was confused for quite a while trying to familiarise myself with all the names on there as it is such a big thread compared to the Daily, so I am sure after a few days everyone will be more settled.
They have forecast more snow for us and my OH keeps impatiently looking out of the window as he wants to see his new car with snow on the roof.
Today will be my first drive out in it as I have a hospital appt.

Today will be toasted ham and cheese sandwiches with HM bread of course and some more of the big casserole we made in the slow cooker last week and froze. Will serve it with baked potatoes and green beans. Was very pleased as last week we kept within our budget for groceries which was deliberately set very low as we are eating as much as possible from the storecupboards etc.
My lounge is back to normal again after sorting through the Christmas cards and bringing the plants back in from the office, so I am pleased with that. Also copied the new addresses from the cards to my address book which is very efficient of me as usually I have little square bits of card ripped from the cards hanging around all year.

Have a couple of cards to make this evening and a freezer inventory to do if my OH is willing...
I hope today is the best it can be for everyone and that you all stay warm and safe. With love and light to all.

Good morning MSD and all who follow.
MSD - thanks for your concern. I'm not feeling that rough, just tired because the cough is keeping me awake. Having said that, it only woke me up once in the night so it must be on the way out. I'm just seeing the doctor in case I have an infection. Good luck to you with your hopsital appointment.
Redruby - I hope the day went well for you yesterday. Moving house during a big freeze can't be easy.
(((Hugs))) to all those with sadness in their lives.
Lunch today will be homemade leek, potato and bacon soup, and dinner will be spaghetti bolognaise, so nothing too taxing. I need to make some bread, too.
The new temporary sitting room is almost ready for use. It's only a small room (which will eventually become my office) but we have managed to get one sofa, a chair and a footstool in it for seating, as well as a couple of blanket boxes. We have another sofa but that will have to stay in storage until the real sitting room is finished, which won't be for a while yet. We need to buy a splitter thingy so that we can keep a TV in the room off the kitchen that we've been using up to now, as well as having the main TV in the new room. The next job will be the taking down of the ceiling in the old sitting room that DH has been threatening to do for months now. My computer is in there, so we have to find somewhere else for that to go temporarily. It's like musical furniture here!
I hope the weather is improving for you all and that things have gone well for all those who have returned to work and school. We seem to have escaped the worst of it here; temperatures are set to rise, apparently. It's been very cold but with very little snow.
Well, I think I'll have another cuppa.
Have a great day, everyone.

Morning Diva, mioliere and all who follow
What a lovely long thread we had yesterday. It's lovely reading all about everyone's plans for the day, and taking ideas from them, so the more the merrier.
Suffering from lack of sleep still and my left foot is so coldI'm sat in front of a halogen heater now, trying to keep them warm.
So far, I've marinated my chicken, as we're having chicken tikka strips for tonight and I've put the wm on. I also want to put a mix in the bm so we can have rolls tonight, as well.
Work for the girls today includes angles of a triangle, and we are building up our skeleton with the How Your Body Works series. They also need to work through their Japanese folder, as we may be going tomorrow, depending on the weather. My friend will let me know later, as she drives us there.
Schools round here still haven't gone back so no doubt the girls friends will be round later today. No idea when they will return. They've been off since Wednesday last week.
DD wants porridge with strawberries for breakfast, so I'm going to put some in the SC now, ready for when she gets up.

Hello everyone, newbie here
I swear this place is so huge. I don't know where to start and when I do find a thread to read I get side tracked by another thread which leads me to another thread etc. I could spend all of my days on here and not even notice. Sadly I have 3 dogs to feed and walk, a cat to feed and a hungry OH who is due home from work in oh 2 hours or so.
My sleeping schedule is very messed up lately. I'm in tune with my OHs sleeping schedule when I should be up in the day and sleeping through the night. Argh!
Okay my German Shepherd is giving me the 'let me out mummy!!' look and I know my mastiff will be bothering me soon so I'm off for now. Going to feed the 5 thousand!
Have a great day everyoneWife and mother :jGrocery budget

Sequeena - glad you found your way here. It's very easy to lose hours reading threads, I know. :rotfl:Hope you enjoy the Daily, and feel free to ask anything you like, there is always someone around to help!
Mioliere - glad to hear you are feeling better
pipkin - Yes it was fun reading such a long Daily, very enjoyable. Make sure you keep warm honey.Treacle is being incredibly annoying - we defrosted some turkey bits last night and I swear she can smell them through the kitchen door which is tightly shut. Anyway, I may have to give in and go feed her again as Sheba apparently is not good enough for her this morning!

When we had our dog, as soon as she heard the electric knife, she would make a dash for the kitchen, as she knew meat was being sliced up
The girls keep talking about having a new dog and I have considered it, as we haven't had a pet since Kelly died, but it isn't simply about having a pet and done with it. There are things to consider, like being able to walk a dog, not being out of the house too long, so they are locked up all day, ect.
I am going to give it some serious thought, as a small dog would be lovely, and as much as I would like to choose another border collie, I no longer have the energy for all the exercise they need, so it would have to be a small dogThere is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. Thought yest thread was really fun (- and quite exciting - shows you how little excitment I get in my life doesn't it:rolleyes:) and I am looking forward to finding out all about our new friends.
Diva hope Tris and Pam are ok
Moiliere glad to hear you are coughing less (and so sleeping better)
Pipkin - can I just have strawberries please - I am fed up of porridge!

Pipkin if you have the space why not opt for one of the mastiff breeds? Of course you need to be prepared to put up with drool too but they are a joy to live with. Luna is nearly 6 months old now (English Mastiff/Dogue De Bordeaux) and she is content with two 35 minute walks a day and won't need much more walking when she's fully grown. They're so loving and amazingly protective but I do advise on getting a crate or you'll have no house left when they're in the puppy stage :rotfl:
My first suggestion would be a shepherd, the most loving and daftest breeds known to man (whoever said they're the world's 3rd most intelligent dog should be shot) but they require 2 hours + walking a day.
Oh, and if I even attempt to move my lot are up thinking there's going to be food on the go
Now just to work out what's for dinner. I bought a slow cooker last week but haven't used it yet. I don't know what to do with it and I'm not the best cook going!Wife and mother :jGrocery budget

Morning.
Windy outside with the threat of a foot of snow. I think we will just get rain being too near the sea. Rain would be best as OH does teaching supply and snow means no money. It feel a little warmer in the house which is one thing.
Day off and still getting things put away from the holiday.
Been looking at new cars, OH 14 year old fiesta is about done in. What with scrappage and 0% over 3 years, why not get a new one.... Seems like the best time, but what to get?
No college again because of the weather. Thats 9 days now and nothing for my 2 eldest.... Very poor I think.
Not sure what is for tea, freezers are full, so we should eat them down a bit. Need motivation.
Cheers folks have a weather free dayNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -

Thank you!
I only bought the basic 2.5l slow cooker from Argos. I was going to go for a Breville one which was reduced to £24.99 (we had a £15 gift card and I was willing to put another £10 on top) but my OH wanted a coffee machine too so we had both for the £15 instead.Wife and mother :jGrocery budget
