What does this mean?

Just to add on the paw thing, all my mum's dogs have done this. It isn't dominance, it's usually "I want fuss" or "I want to play" or "Can I have a bit of your yummy dinner". Can mean any number of things. If I thought ANY animal was being harmed or mistreated, I'd go out of my way to make sure they had a better life.

And I'd still let this lady look after them (give her the money to get them done) let him worry about it, then get them back after they've been done. It may then show his true colours towards animals he purely sees as breeders or status (have had a dog used as a puppy farm, she was scared, scarred and skinny - she'd jump if you touched her. Luckily me mum is very god with animals, and got her to a loving family dog where she could have been a lost cause. OP, if he does up and go, or you kick him out, it is possible, with love, care and time, to change the dogs for the better)

Elfen - The only problem i see with the, let the lady take them, neature them and return them. Is what if the OP's OH gets rid of the dogs and gets new ones that haven't been neatured. If he really wants to breed one and have another with a wide head, i can imagine he's the sort of person to go and get new dogs.

OP, you sound like a lovely caring woman and i really hope this all works our for you in the best way

ETA: IL's staffys always lay next to me and put there head and paws on my legs, then snuggle up and fall asleep. I always thought it was a loving thing to do aswell
