Blimey, slightly few more issues here than just putting a paw on someone me thinks.
It seems like there is his dog, and then there is your dog, and your dog has to do what he wants so his dog can do what it wants? Pretty poor attitude on his part if you don't mind me saying so!
Why don't you get your b**ch speyed if he won't get the male done, if you have no breeding or showing plans then its a lot easier on everone anyway, IMO.
I know that is not the point, but it might save yet another litter of
staffs in rescue.

My five yo Springer does this - but in a very tender almost submissive way. I've certainly never interpreted it as dominance.

Not my dog, they are both his dogs but I treat it more like my dog that he does his dog

The problem is angel will turn at some point out of fear. There is no point having a dog in a cage and even if you watch the dogs it only takes a few mins for her to get pregnant. cant you get her done after shes finshed being heat.

We dont need any more pups out there trying to find homes.

I feel for you my oh and i dont agree with our dog my dobie does the paw thing but only to me and mostly in the morning or late at night for cuddles

I know this is a pet thread, but he is your partner & they are 'his' dogs yet you have a baby?? Mmmm keep the dogs hon, ditch the OH.....if the poor dog turned on him he would be screaming for it to be put down? I have secrety wanted to book an appointment and get Bruno does if he wants to breed Angel but i would get into loads of trouble so I rather not

I think he wants to breed Angel but I have tried to explain to him that he cannot because its not practical, he will hopefully be working when it's time to breed her, i will be back to work, there will be no one to look after her and when shes in labour, i prefer for her not to be alone if it can be helped and the idiot had the cheek to tell me 'in the wild, they do it on their own'! He's right, THEIR NOT IN THE F*****G WILD!

When and if she has pups, what if she cant feed them all, someone needs to be there to see if some pups need a helping hand being fed, and this goes on for weeks, not days...he hasnt thought of this, hes just thinks its as simple as it sounds. Iv never bred a dog or come across a dog breeder but i'm using my common sense here

Ask him how many Staffies he's seen in the wild, and ask him how many years experience these particular two dogs have in living in the wild.

No offence to you but the guy sounds like a Grade 1 bell-end who doesn't deserve to have dogs, let alone kids & a partner. He sounds like a control freak - how long before he wants to tell you or your child when & where you're allowed to go in the house etc?

He must know you cant breed a fearful dog or brother and sister. well you can but you shouldnt and most ppl wouldnt want those pups.

He sounds awful, like he doesn't care at all about his own pets, he just wants to breed them and dominate them and not care about whether they're happy or not as long as he gets what he wants

Pete*G just summed up what I was going to say, if he's so willing to dominate and control his pets, then how long before he tries to control other aspects of hi slife (i.e you) like that?! I think how a person treats animals reflects on them as a person, and he obviously has no respect for them at all.
