  • Got two packets of whoopsied diced rabbit in Waitrose today. Not a bone in sight, all meat.:)

Now cooking with diced onion, garlic, lardons, tomato puree, veg stock cube, salt, pepper, thyme, mixed herbs, Worcester sauce, carrots and wine.

Will easily do 4 to 6 portions.

;) Felines are my favourite ;)
  • Does anyone make soup in their slow cooker? I use mine a lot but have not done soup. I was thinking about something I could put on slow overnight and then take to work.
Anyone suggest some nice recipes? I like anything!

I do carrot and red lentil soup in mine, basically shove in a load of carrots, some lentils, some stock, onions and whatever random veg/herbs I can find. Once it's done just blend and you're ready to go.

    Afternoon all!
Am a lurker rather than a poster, and have been following this thread for a while.
I have only really used my sc for jar sauces, or beef joints, but after taking tips from on here i came up with 2 onions, 2 carrots, 2 peppers (all feeling sorry for themselves!) a handfull red lentils, a stock cube, and a good spoon of dried mixed herbs, all left on low overnight, whizzed with the stick thingy in the morning and taken to wotk for lunch, delicious!
Thanks to all for inspiration, a tasty healthy meal from almost nothing!
Have decided not to mention the erm..... after effects!!
  • As much as I love casserole, I couldn't for the life of me have a stew/casserole every day!

Apart from casserole/stew/chicken - what else can I make? Help!

Just did a chicken casserole with mash and yorkies which was delicious, even the fussy BF who doesn't normally touch my cooking loved it. There was loads of the stock/gravy left over so have added some split peas to turn it into soup.

A lovely joint of beef in ours today with 2 carrots, an onion and 1/2 pint of water. First time for doing a joint of beef in the SC, I've set it to 4 hours on low as our SC cooks really fast - plus we like our beef rare.

Am going to blast it in the oven for half an hour later with the spuds and yorkies.
