Chilli. I'm using a portion of spag bol that had been cooked and frozen previously. I will add two tins kidney beans, onion/garlic, 150g fresh mince, cumin, garam masala, paprika, and chilli flakes, to convert in my SC.
  • I am experimenting today as I am home to "keep an eye out".
I got a cheap joint of beef and some potatoes and am going to roast both together in SC. I have four tablespoons of butter with salt, pepper, garlic and pepreaka(sp). Hopefully I will just need to add some veg and gravy and have a mini roast.
  • I put a leg of lamb in mine last night with herbs and a lemon to make a kleftiko, itss been in since 10pm and I have drained excess water away and will have it with bulgar wheat and a salad for lunch (Hubby had to do some skilful 'surgery' on it so it would fit it!)

Hi, sorry to interrupt this post - thought it was the best place to ask!!

My and the OH work long days, and am loving the sound of some of the recipies you are cooking up in your SCs.

I am going to get us a SC, but which models are best?

There are just two of us.

Will need to leave it on all day... are they safe?

Sorry if the questiosn are a little dumb!
    Thanks!

I came home off nightshift this morning and feeling quite chuffed with myself for being organised placed some braising steak, stock, onions, garlic, button mushrooms and bay leaf in slow cooker!! Woke up and checked on it and it's absolutely gross!!! The meat is very fatty and still pink after 8 hrs cooking and its a very strange taste!! I'm gutted......but the dog is going to have a feast.
