I've just got a book that someone mentioned in the old thread. It's Slow Cooking: Easy Slow Cooker Recipes by Katie Bishop. I needed some inspiration as I tend to cook the same things. It's a great book and well worth the £4.99 it cost.0

Hi all, in my SC is 800g minced beef, onion, tin of chopped tomatoes and some mixed herbs.I thought I would use half for a cottage pie and the other half for a pasta dish.If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.0 -

I still have the new slow cooker owner fear of burning the house down while at work. Could I put all the ingredients in the cooker, attach a timer plug to switch on at say, 11am, and still have both an edible dinner and a standing house?
If you're scared of the SC or anything else going faulty and burning the house down, what you should get is one of those sockets that you plug the lawnmower into when doing the garden.
If anything goes wrong they should 'trip' so the electric is switched off in an instant.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I'll be getting my first 3.5l slow cooker tomorrow and wondered if anyone had any good recipes as a starter, or a website to look at. Looking for something that'll be ready on high in about 4-5hours max.0
