I made oxtail ragout for the first time in mine today. It just tasted like a faffy oxtail stew TBH. So next time I shall save my time and effort and wine and just make the stew as normal!
I keep seeing these ziplock bag freezer-to-slow-cooker recipes on Pinterest and I would like to try some. Can anyone recommend any recipes please?0 -

I've just started using my slow cooker after getting inspiration on this thread (it's been in the cupboard for years).
I did chicken casserole yesterday for the freezer and I've just put it on for beef casserole for today.
I think I'm addicted and I can't believe I've let it sit in the cupboard this long.0 -

I use mine more than any other kitchen gadget. I am so sorry that I did not have one until perhaps a year ago missing decades of using one(all those years lost)and that Mum never had any of the meals I could've served for both of us...you can do so much and save on the cost of energy.
You can have a lovely meal when you return after being out...cook at anytime or set it up even using a timer...and use cheaper but equally tasty cuts of meat too.freedom2011 wrote: »Happy Monday, I have some split yellow peas and bacon, Can anybody suggest a pea & ham soup recipes for the SC. I was going to link to a recipe but there are so many...use a search engine and type in pae and ham soup in a slow cooker and see what comes back:)

This a great site with many ideas for mainly inexpensive meals but ease of cooking and many can be adapted to being prepared in a slow cooker. Loads of ideas in the recipe index...
