Hi - I'm a lurker on this thread but have loved cooking so much with my slow cooker since my baby was born and I'm now back at owrk full time I thought I'd better start sharing some recipes ;)

I've never made this before but looks like it will be perfect slow cooked, I will be preparing it tonight and putting it on in the morning before work :)

It's actually a Good Food recipe called Braised Pork witb Plums - a sort of chinese braised pork shoulder dish with plums, looks like it will be delish - it's got all sorts of lovely ingredients in it and I'm making enough for 8 so we have lots left to freexe so I'll let you know tomorrow how it works out! :)

Fantastic thread by the way, it always inspires me!

  • Being a typical bloke
I need some help on this one

I have in mine ready to cook tomorrow chicken thighs, chicken supreme sauce, potatoes and peas

What i want to know is if i do enough for two servings

1 can i freeze the extra and how would i go about reheating
defrost and microwave or microwave from frozen

i'm always unsure what you can and cant do with chicken re freezing and re heating

    Thanks

You sure can :) and it's a great idea. When you are going to defrost the saved portion easiest way is to leave it out the night before. You can then re-heat it in the microwave when you're ready - just make sure it is hot the whole way through before you eat it.

By the way - if you had used frozen thighs you could still re-freeze them as long as you cook them thoroughly first. :)

    Good luck :)

MMM it was delicious! But it needed much less stock than the recipe states (probably none at all would have been fine) but I took the meat out and then reduced the sauce on the hob, it was lurvely :)

Here's a link to the recipe for anyone who would like it, as mentioned though you probably don't need the stock!

It makes loads so loads left to freeze too! :)
