Well mine is having a well earned rest, its just been washed and dried and put back into the cupboard all sparkly and clean after the mammoth cookathon.
Got to say that the pork steaks did turn out amazingly well, had a bit of a scare earlier and thought that they had burnt but it was how the marinade looked when i first took off the lid :rotfl:
I could actually have cooked them for a couple of hours less i think so will try that next time that i make this recipe.

Just wondered does anyone elses still smell of curry, even after having washed and rinsed several times? I don't make them often, but the aromatic smell seems to linger.0

Made lentil soup in mine. Wasn't sure wether I'd like it as never made or even tasted it before but was very yummy!! I added some chilli's and cayenne for a bit of a spicy kick too.
Delicious and so cheap!!0 -
pea and ham soup, using the leftover stock, onions, carrots and ham from shank I slow cooked earlier in the week. Added split green peas that I had soaked overnight and boiled for 10 mins - Yummy0

I`ve caught the odd whiff i must admit but once the new food goes in it disappears. I always store mine with the lid on though so that may be why in my case.

Hi all,
I'm quiet new to using a slow cooker but today I am making hubby lamb hotpot, diced lamb (took me AGES to chop off the fatty bits...which the dogs ate!), onions, carrots, the packet mix and sliced potatoes on the top.
It says on the packet (which is for the oven) 30 mins before the end of cooking to remove lid to crisp potatoes a bit so is it possible to put the actual slow cooker pot in the oven for half an hour or do you think it would break it?
ThanksWhy does my dog chase cars? Even if he caught one he hasn't passed his test!0 -
