Bananadog - If the frozen mince is already in the sc then i would cook it on high until its defrosted and then turn it down, if its not in yet i would start it off on the hob and then add it to the sc. The sc may not get it to a high enough temperature to defrost it and then cook it all through evenly unless its on for a very long time.
The sauce will be fine, i throw allsorts into mine
My sc is back on again now with a gammon joint in, tea tonight will be gammon and new potatoes - not sure what veg to do with it yet. If the left over sock isn`t salty then i`ll freeze it to make soup with at a later date.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
I've got a pound of stewing steak which had been sitting in the freezer for 2 years !! A sachet of sweet pepper and potato soup, some left over veggies and gravy from a roast, and some Onion Gravy - the soup and the onion gravy both cheap from Approved foods. If it comes out OK, there's some Herby Dumplings mix from Approved foods to go with it later.......Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Thanks for the dog food receipe Sunnyday - I know mine will love that
In my SC today is a sausagy casseroley type thingy.Sausages (which I remembered to brown this time
), pots and leeks and a jar of M&S Caramalised Onion sauce.
Meant to add mushrooms but not having a good day and forgot
Was yummy :T
Didn't think of doing mince in it - thats on the menu for next week now :j0 -
Mines working overtime this week :rotfl:
Two huge pork leg steaks in there now, i shall make the sauce later and then put on low overnight.
This recipe is for oriental pork and i`ve never made it in the slow cooker before, i shall lightly fry the peppers and onions so that they are still a bit crisp and add to the pork which will be reheated another day. I`ve lots of noodles in to serve it with and i`m pretty sure that there will be enough leftover to freeze so we should get 4 meals out of two leg steaks that i bought last summer reduced and popped into the freezer. The price on the pack was £1.46 so a very moneysaving meal
If it works out well in the sc i shall make it like this again, i`m working the late shift next week so i`m getting a bit of cooking in advance done. I love my sc and my freezer as they make working shifts so much easier
