Today is refried beans again - the burrito's were SO yummy when I made them last, that i'm serving them to our guests tonight.
As soon as I get home from work and wash the SC out, it'll be filled again - this time with mulled wine. Yummy.

Made enough bolognaise sauce for 10 portions and 2 lasagnes (one 2 portion, one 4 portion)
Used 1lb of pork and one 1lb of beef mince, and all of Co-ops reduced delights!!!

I did a giant pot of vegetable soup with dumplings yesterday and we're eating it again today. The soup was made with whatever veg I had to use up, boiling water and a stock cube. I put the dumplings in in the last half hour of cooking.0

I have been oiling it first and am out all day so can't stir it during cooking. Don't seem to have any trouble with other things sticking or burning - just beans and lentils , thinking maybe i should put it on a timer switch ? as maybe its cooking for too long thats the problem (we are out of the house for 9 hours) ?
I've never had lentils stick and I left one lot in for 12 or more hours.
Do you put enough water in? I just soak the lentils / beans / pearl barley overnight and the throw in the SC with a load of water (good 2 inch covering) crumble in a stock cube, stir, put to medium and walk away.0 -
i'm cooking a nive big vat of chilli con carne in my slow cooker today.
first day back at work for hubby and my older children are at school.
I know they are all gonna be starving tonight, so i've made one of their favorite meals. It is smelling gorgeous already, i'm so tempted to have some for lunch. ( for testing purposes only of course!):p0 -

I'm trying the refried beans today - did make a bit of a mistake, put my onion and spices in the sc, started adding the beans and water then realised there was no way it was all going to fit in my slow cooker! So now I'm going to hae extra spicy refried beans as I had to halve the amount of beans and water but have used the full amount of spices - dohMay Grocery Challenge -£216/4000

Ohhhh, let us know how they turn out! Are you doing the burritos? We can't get enough of them in this house.
The guests I cooked them for before Christmas polished off enough for 16 - between 7 of them! :rotfl: How big was the smile on my face? lol
Nothing in my SC at the moment, it was going OT over Christmas making stock and soup. Will get it out again soon, once we've made a dent in the freezer!
