Some great things we've done over last couple of weeks (and cheap!) have been American style baked beans:
slowcookedinblighty.blogspot.com/2010/11/slow-cooker-american-baked-beans-recipe.html
overnight porridge:

(finally found one that didn't taste like glue!)
and a really nice potato, spinach and cheese bake: .slowcookedinblighty.blogspot.com/2010/10/slow-cooker-potato-spinach-mushroom-and.html
Just a few ideas for those of you who wanted a few more ideas apart from stews and pot roasts.0 -
Venison (approx £4.20 a 1lb), bacon, port, carrots, mushrooms, blackberries, allspice, and black pepper.0

Got a pumpkin for 25p so it's crammed full of pumpkin! Plus a chopped red onion, red chilli & garlic and a little olive oil.
I'm using a recipe for butternut & chilli soup from my slow cooker book and that's all she says to put in, then you add stock and seasoning after mashing it.
Couldn't fit all the pumkin in, so I'm cooking the rest in the microwave, I figure I can mash it and freeze it and then use it for soup.0 -
MY DH made some delicious lime curd in the slowcooker today
It's the first time we've used it for anything other than a main meal. Will be trying a slow-cooker christmas pud this year too.
