Morrisons staff putting things aside.

And good on your OH - all the best in their search.
Bit different, though - your partner working hard to get something suitable, no doubt looking for jobs and applying to each and every one they can, while there are others (who are mugs, make no mistake) who hate their job, know they're not suited, moan about it at every opportunity yet still can't be bothered to have a quick job-search on Monster or wherever and see of there's a job out there more suited to them.
They don't even have to leave the house, or even get up off their ar*e to do it!0 -

To summarise for latecomers:
Op didn't directly speak to staff member about the cakey desires.
OP didn't question why the cakes were taken away.
OP is not vindictive, but rather than sorting out the situation there and then, decided to send a biased letter to head office about something very trivial amounting perceived rudeness.
If only OP had simply spoken to the staff member rather than sending psychic waves to them, they may have got the cakes AND saved themselves postage of a letter.
Remember, kids. It's not vindictive if you say nothing to the offending person (who didn't even know they were offending), THEN complain about their behaviour.0 -

What about the people who are in a job they hate and are applying for jobs, but don't get them?
It took me 4 years of applying for jobs while in a job I hated before I got a better one.
There were times when I couldn't take interviews because I couldn't get the days off work (and didn't want to lose the job I did have because I needed the money), and I only got a new job when I quit the one I had so I could attend any interview.
Some people are lucky and can just walk into any job. Others aren't. Then there are those who have to be very picky about what jobs they apply to for health reasons.
Nobody ever knows the full picture about what's going on0 -

mainly because you were advising that i need more training and i was wanting to see if you were qaulified in this are or to have a better understanding to your post.
Actually, I was being polite and in effect was saying your customer service is up the pole!
As a 'customer', I, like others, have been fortunate to experience excellent customer service and therefore am qualified to know what level of service one can/should expect.
There are fantastic people out there who go out of their way to accommodate the 'customer'. As a 'customer', this makes me want to visit the store more frequently and such service actually makes me more friendlier and tolerant, so if there is a hiccup in service, I am prepared to not make a big thing about it, because I know this is out of the ordinary and know that tomorrow the excellent customer service will be experienced.
As someone who worked in the retail industry and sales, including part time in stores, I have been trained in customer service and know that the type of experience the OP had would never have been tolerated and we would have been out on our butts had we acted in such a manner.0 -

If I might reiterate (highlighted for emphasis)?
"...there are others (who are mugs, make no mistake) who hate their job, know they're not suited, moan about it at every opportunity yet still can't be bothered to have a quick job-search on Monster or wherever and see of there's a job out there more suited to them."
You're right - we don't always know the entire picture, but what we can do is read the entire post before commenting0 -
There is something that is very interesting about this thread,it makes me just keep coming back to it time after time.
Im in a wee bit of a pickle here because i like shopping at Morrisons,i feel that i may have given the OP a little bit of a hard time and i hope he accepted my words earlier as they were meant, and i also like cake.
However never again will i ever go to the cake section in a Morrisons store and not have a sneaky chuckle to myself at this thread, obviously there will be some people there who will think that i am totally barmy......I will just have this image in my head of people peering around the bottom of the aisle's waiting for that wee fella or lady with that highly sort after little gun of glory.
I love this thread and i now thank ole Tribulation for bringing it up,and hand on heart i want him back on these here boards.Forum spellcheckers are the pitts.0 -

There is plenty of cake, dependant on what price you wish to pay, there are no reduced cakes.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
