Lol i usually hate the rain but i`d welcome some atm as would many.
I`ve spent an hour and a half clearing snow and i`m just about packed and ready to set off for w*rk.
Spade - check
Grit - check
Sweeping brush - check
Walking boots - Check
Fingers crossed i`ll get there in one piece and double crossed that i`ll get back although it will probably be the early hours before i make it home
I daren`t risk the public transport as i`ve been stranded before when they take the busses etc off the roads. I did once walk it and it wasn`t an experience i`d like to repeat much less in the middle of the night.
Its still snowing here and hasn`t stopped at all although it does seem warmer, the snowflakes are small but its still settling  I have many hills to tackle so i`d best get a move on.
Keep safe and warm folks.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -

Gosh the thread is busy today!
Thanks for the peeps who wished me luck at the dentist - I've got to go back tomorrow to have a filling. Its a wisdom tooth so will stick with a metal one rather than splashing out on a white one. Am dreading it though.
I agree with taplady, Pen-pin can be like royalty and have 2 birthdays!!! :rotfl:0 -
I always know when I'm having a hormone 'do' - the dead giveaway (apart from being a moody mare) is I start dropping off to sleep at my work desk and I can't remember the word for things..anyone else get this?
J x
Oh yes, I suffer from this too... just can't remember what it's called...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Think my homehelp suffers from it too, she keeps putting things down and then asking me if I know where she left them...
We are not that bad you know:D I am a bad Flylady myself:rotfl:
Very bad!!
Am making ham sandwiches for lunch, think I might get my OH to toast them, it's so darn cold.
Diva.xTo be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.0 -

Sorry :rotfl: The reference to Scots men is from Raymond Briggs' Snowman film - the eponymous snowman and the boy meet with other snowmen for a ceilidh, and at least one of them is in Highland dress
Flylady Wave to mumof2 and Dusty
Just a mention to those who have slushy paths - if you can manage, it'll be good to clear it while it's soft, as if it freezes overnight it'll be an ice rink tomorrow  Gave me a good workout this morning:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

My lovely 80 year old neighbour spotted a JCB doing the local shop car park (first time since 17th Dec) anyway he asked if he could do in front of the garages. The garages are also the main path into my house. It was 6 inches deep of ICE topped with some snow this morning....so anyway the path I just cleared, well he dozed through and made a wider one. So have spent 2 hours since with gloves clearing more of the ice he couldn't get to as it's uneven, broken loads up (on my own
as most of neighbours are elderly) to try to get the water from the rain at it. I did my best but now struggling with my right arm. Next door on other side had a moan of 'what about the paths' as she uses a side path, not elderly so offered her my shovel and mentioned being grateful for having one path to use now unlike between Xmas and NY!
Filled the dishwasher, still can't decide what to have for tea...think it's a choice of steak, sausages or mince as something.....I should meal plan more rigidly instead of lists of what meals. One day I might be more organised...........
