Sorry to hear your news, Sunnygirl
My condolences.

Afternoon all,wow its very busy here today,hi flyladies.
Sunnygirl, I'm very sorry for your loss.Hugs to you and your family.
Bargainbird, I WAS using HTR for my arm warmers ,but still didnt grow quick- I think I'm just slow. Also I got the wool off the market -2 diff colours, meant to be DK,but seems more like 4ply to me,and the grey seems thinner than the pink as the stripes are making up unevenly, even though its the same make of wool.I've abandoned that for now,and called it a practice.:rotfl:I've got some pure wool DK that I might try again with ,as I sewed up the one I did finish, and I do like them .I'm proud of my ruffle scarf though :j
Cottage pie for tea tonight- DH took me to Lidl and the Coop on Saturday as I needed fresh veg.Co-op didnt have any eggs, but Lidl had loads of bread flour which I was running out of.Better go and start to make tea-don't think the menfolk will be late as they are working outside and it'll be going dark in an hour.
Take care.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
I’ve been trying to catch up on the posts between jobs all day but I’m fighting a losing battle. Hugs to anybody who needs them though!
OH decided he wanted to try lamb yesterday, so bought my first ever piece of lamb and slow-cookered it. It was lovely. Unfortunately, it shrank to nothing and there wasn’t anything left for our traditional Monday “Leftover Casserole”. Which has meant an emergency rethink for the mealplan! I think it’ll just be something simple like sausage, egg and chips.
Not much OSing done over the weekend as I wasn’t well (boo!). Cooking and the resulting washing up was about all I managed! Oh, I did make a couple of birthday cards (this surely counts as OS – I didn’t have to buy them!). Must confess that we ate a shop bought pizza on Friday night, although I figure it was OK since it was part of my OH’s sisters’ christmas present to us (a Tesco shop! How cool is that?:j She tricked us into getting us to list all of our favourite foods by saying her 7-year-old had a school project…).
Lunches today were ham rolls and various bits and pieces still left over from Christmas. I’ll have to shuffle the mealplan again tomorrow as my beansprouts haven’t grown. The packet said 6-9 days and it’s been 11 and they’re still not ready. I’m considering complaining to the company… :pOh well, not a problem. We’ve got most of what we need for the month so I’ll just bring something else forward.
Plans for the week – tidy up a bit. Really must get back on board the FlyLady thread (having spent most of the Chrsitmas break making my Control Journal!). Need to make a batch of cards for the huge number of birthdays coming up, plus an engagement card for OH’s sister, who got engage on Christmas Day (I am very excited. Not in the slightest bit jealous. Not at all.). Fingers crossed that the snow will stay away for Thursday as I have to drive Puppy-Dog to the vet for his neutering and I really don’t do snow!
Right, I’m going to make a concerted effort to read the rest of this thread, then off to walk Puppy-Dog.

Thanks for letting me know bargainbird! Thanks for thinking of me too - do you know the more people I speak to the more people I find have had something similar happen. I just wish the sonographer had explained a bit more!
Maybe she had left her empathy at home that day!! I had a similar worrying experience 23 years ago, told to come back next week twice, then the gynae consultant lowered himself to human level to tell me there had been a suspicion of spina bifida but they were satisfied all was OK. As you said, it's nice to know at the time to ease the worry rather than afterwards.0 -
Another slow day today, with not much sleep again.
The pain in my back and hip was pretty bad last night, and no matter what position I lay in, it just wasn't comfortable. I've rubbed some glucosamine gel in, and taken my painkillers, which has helped, as long as I take things slowly and don't twist or anything.
Anyway, I've done a Sainsbury's shop, as I was running low on bread, milk and fruit/veg. They can't deliver until Wednesday, but that's ok.
I've made up some natural yoghurt in the easiyo, as I plan to do chicken tikka strips tomorrow. Tonight's meal is heating up something from the freezer.
Hope everyone is ok today. Haven't got through the whole thread yet.
 to the new daily members. Hope you enjoy contributing to and reading the thread
((((HUGS)))) to those in need.

I don't know what their problem was when I returned it. I think it looked better without wing mirrors and the police only intervened once when I got stuck under a low bridge.
HJ!! That made me laugh out loud and splutter my tea over the laptop!!:j New Year, New You = 1.5lb/12lb:j0 -
Sunny Girl - thinking of you and your family at this sad time.
RedRuby - hope the move is going smoothly.
Thanks for all the kind words about my cough and so on; I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon so we'll see what he thinks.
Hope no-one is having too many problems with the snow and ice.

Just in from work, left over shepherds pie for tea with roasties so nice and easy. Wm on, will get that out on the airers when it finishes. Am going to make a soda bread as I like to take to work with Hm soup for lunches in this weather.
