Hi, just dipping my toe in here - I joined the Flying thread a few weeks ago and am LOVING it, but the thread has got so big it's been suggested we chat on here too!

I'm trying hard to do my flying but keep being so distracted - got DS home today and feel guilty plonking him in front of the TV whilst I whizz around with a vacuum cleaner / duster etc (than's my excuse anyhow)

It looks like the snow is thawing a bit here but if anything it seems a bit more slippery to walk on. DD went to school in her wellies and took her school shoes with her. She wasn't happy when I left her at school; think she wound herself up on the way up saying she felt a bit 'wobbly' at the thought of going to school when she's had lots of time off. The sooner everything settles down and she gets back to normal the better really. She's a sensitive little soul (like her Mummy! ;))

Lowsey I was thinking about you when I was awake in the night so glad to hear that everything is ok. I won't tell you not to worry as I always spent lots of time in my early pregnancies in a state about something or other :o Hugs to you.

As far as the chicken goes how about a tub/tin of soup from a local supermarket (if you have one near) for lunch? I used to love the Baxters c0ck-a-Leekie it was very warming & filling :T
In the name of common decency I am biting my tongue but there's a joke just begging there .....

    Back to work sniggering :rotfl:

May post later I was in a foul mood but that has tickled me!

Good morning, been a few weeks since I popped in here (New Year) but we gossip too much on the Flylady Street so we thought we could join this friendly street too :D hope noone minds.

SunnyGirl sorry to hear that, thinking of you and yours
Redruby good luck, I hate moving so much, hope the weather doesn't hinder things

Well a morning of uncertainty, uncertain if I would get up on time (I had this mad dream that my partner said school was closed and I went back to sleep!! :o ) then took ages to get through to school to find out if it was open. No answer on taxi phone so had to just wait to see if DS1 got picked up, they came at 8.55am so I had no hope of getting to DS2s school 6+ miles away by 8.55am...so we just phoned then took as long as needed. Ice is horrid here, 5-6 inches thick, I just spent over an hour digging a small path down to the slope to get to my car, got 1/6th done, I will have to do more later but a blister popped on my hand and it's hurting a lot so stopped for a bit.

Lib Dems are being a bit iffy aren't they, no childcare or personal care for the elderly, he's going to make himself rather unpopular (especially by older generations who are more likely to vote) but at least they were honest.

Need to do plenty of housework today, place is a bomb site but DP is on sofa asleep after doing an airport run at 4am, so will do less noisy stuff first. I can't decide what to make for tea. Laundry is on the big list too.

Right, best go, thanks for having me around, I like nice neighbours :D
One day I might be more organised...........

I could do Granny Squares, but it's taken me a while to do rows ;) I'll post a pic of my scarf later, once I find what DD has done with my camera
