Just back from the school run. I must be doing a "womans" measurement as we've had around 1 inch of snow not 1 cm
Council have not gritted ANY roads by me, just the main road that runs to Birmingham. As such the road that the school is on is terribly slippy. It was hard work pushing the double buggy to school in the snow - I should end up with muscles like popeye at this rate.
H attempted to drive to work. He got fed up of sitting in a traffic jam  and turned around, came home and is now on his bicycle  He's walking to the main road thankfully as he says that is just wet, not snowy. Since he's on a bike he can dodge the traffic quicker and get to work easier - well that's the plan anyway. Hope to God he gets there safe......
Right had best get on with cleaning the kitchen and dining area. My resolution for 2010 is not to spend half the morning on MSE and not getting any jobs done

Hello, welcome to the Newbies and Hugs to all that need them.
The snow is finally starting to go, and the temperature is a balmy 1. We woke up yesterday to see a tractor snow plough clearing the snow in our estate! Apparently the council want to get the bin lorries round so have started clearing the snow. DH dug the car out and I managed to get to the supermarket, which was useful as my FIL came to visit yesterday - he phoned at 10 to say could he come and was here before 12! He brought DS a toboggan so they spent the afternoon sledging again but on the big hill this time.
I took life easy on Sat morning and managed a lie in which I really needed. In the afternoon we met up with one of DS1's friends and went sledging. The boys decided to give up on the sledge and just threw themselves down the hill. They looked like the abominable snow man by the end!
Today I need to- sort out washing
- Put old childrens clothes away in attic until needed again
- Do some more tidying in our bedroom
- Attempt the flylady list.
- [STRIKE]Finish washing up from yesterday as DH didn't get it done.[/STRIKE]

Morning all!
Had a lovely weekend of birthday celebrations, now back to normality! Kids are all in school today, hooray! So I might actually get some jobs done! Need to sort out hire car, bought another one on Saturday, and now just need to wait for dealer to tell me when I can pick it up! Also need to get dd1 some watercolour paper - the school doesn't provide it????? I am beginning to wonder exactly what the school does provide at the moment, it seems that all the arts subjects result in the parents paying for all materials, which can't possibly be right. dd3 is cooking dinner tonight, so I need to check her list and see if we have everything, chicken wrapped in bacon and mozzarella with salad and chips, I know she also has a starter and pud planned though!
Lunches for kids: hm sausage rolls, apples, raisins, kitkats (think they came back after a visit to their dad's, either that or someone got their shopping home to find they were missing a pack of choc bars!)
Lunch for me: hm soup from the freezer, prob spicy lentil cos I need something warming in this weather, don't we all?!
Dinner: chicken wrapped in bacon, starter and pud to be found out when I read dd1's list!
Other than that I shall be having a good tidy round, a thorough hoover and giving the kitchen more than the usual S&S, plenty of washing needs doing as well, not much new there though!
Just going to have a browse on here whilst I eat my brekkie and then I shall get going! Have a good day all xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Morning all, going to try some gentle flyladying today - my house really needs it, I suffer from depression and find that the housework is the first thing to go when I'm feeling down. Hopefully it will be easier with a bit of encouragement from the flylady thread and not too much pressure - Everyone else says just blitz it but thats scary whereas the "baby steps" approach of only doing as many levels as I can cope with is much more me
Porridge for brekkie, Bacon and brie toasties for lunch (using the last of the xmas cheese) and hm veg soup for tea. I'm going to try the hot cross bun loaf in gthe bread maker because dd1 (age 14) eats constantly and that looks like it might be a good filler upper
Big hugs to you all,
love Sally:snow_laug HM Christmas 2010

Sunnygirl-Sorry to hear of your loss.Love and blessings to you all.
Mand x
Just cleaned bathroom, tidied a bit in living room and changed dd bed.Left the bed longer than normal, thursday is bed day but can't stand both bedding drying around the house and she came to no harm lol.Snow melting here, pleased as we had icicles that had brought the neighbours guttering down. Also dd was able to get the bus to school, last week they didn't attempt our hill.
Going to do an easy tea of fish and chips as dd is late at school with drama, want an easy throw in tea.Looking forward to pay day, storecupboard looking bare and some of the meals have been flamboyant to say the least.
Blessings
