He hid it under my fish.

PP, the 7.5 tonne truck was hired by OH to move us back to Glasgow and we drove to Swindon to pick it up. He was supposed to be driving but we couldn't find his licence so he made me do it.:eek::eek::eek::eek:
This was 5pm rushhour in Swindon and I wanted to avoid the infamous magic roundabout so drove under a low bridge instead. :o:o:o
The police managed to escort me (backwards) out on to a dual carriage way and we made it home.
Packed up the truck that night and left for Glasgow the next day.... Unpacked all our wordly good and left again to head down south. The whole journey wasn't helped by me being slightly phobic about motorway sliproads so we didn't stop the whole way. :D
Just before we got to the hire place The wing mirror jumped off near a big tree.
Next day I had to drive back to Glasgow alone for a job interview but only got 200 miles before I realised I'd left my suit in the kitchen so had to go back, by which time, OH had noticed I'd left it and tried to catch up with me passing me somewhere on the M5.
Anyhoo... long story short, I got the job, OH moved up a few days later and he married me 2 months later. Silly sod.
    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

This nearly had me spluttering all over the laptop :D

Well, after the unfortunate welcome I got above, I wasnt going to post again, but the gals on flylady (who also post here) have encouraged me to give you another go. So, I guess I'll see you around - wont post today (apart from this one) to let the dust settle a bit (I guess loads of us appearing all at once might have seemed a bit daunting), but should be back tomorrow. Have an appointment at 11am and another at 7.30pm, both away from home, but apart from that, I will be around until Wednesday, then off to London till Thursday afternoon for some more appointments.

Wow, can't believe how busy it has been on here today! Welcome to all the lovely newbies.

Haribo - that was priceless. I'm still giggling now. At least your DH knew what he was letting himself in for before he married you! As someone who has also negotiated the famous magic roundabout, well done to you for doing it in a 7.5 tonne!

NicLou You're right I am calm. I think that waiting for MIL to die has been much, much worse than it actually happening IYSWIM? Thank you x

Haribo DH had his own removal business (till the bottom fell out of the housing market) and has just found your moving tale very funny ;):D Having driven 7.5t trucks himself, crammed full of other peoples goods, he understands where you're coming from :rotfl:

I once hired a 3.5t truck to collect a 3 piece suite that my auntie was giving us just before we got married. We lived in Lancashire and she lived in Scarborough which isn't a long journey but does involve driving on a very busy section of the M62 and the A1 North. I had only passed my test 3 days earlier and with the wisdom of youth decided that spending my Sunday driving to get the suite was a brilliant idea  Needledd to say I got so tense driving it up there that by the time we set back off (DH couldn't drive at this point) I was starting with a vile migraine. I made it halfway back down the A1 before I had to stop to be verrrrrry sick. I phoned my Mum & Dad & they came out, put me in the car with Mum while Dad drove the truck back with DH in it. All in it took until 11pm at night & I have not lived it down yet :rotfl:

Redruby If you're reading this I hope that your move went brilliantly well with no truck disasters :D

Off to find the Knit your Square thread now then going to bed. Goodnight all xx

Great to see so many people posting today - welcome to all!
I've been truly caught on the wrong foot - toyally forgot I had someone coming in to put up shelving..I went out early! Bless him he waited ages, then saw me as he was driving home, gave me a lift back and proceeded to work all day! Fabulous job - but because I hadn't prepared I had to shift things very quickly - and now have so much sorting out to do it's not true! I'm always so smug at putting things on the calendar - just need to read it sometimes!
((HUGS)) to all who'd like one today.
SunnyGirl, I know you've been expecting this, but nothing quite prepares everyone. Love and prayers to you and the family.

Please don't feel this way. Problem is with written text is you can't hear the tone in which it's meant - I think people are just suprised to have so much more activity on the thread. That doesn't mean we think it's a bad thing though :D

Personally the only downside is I am going to spend so much more time on here just reading all your comments - what a shame ;) :rotfl:

I am really pleased to see all you Flyladies here.

I'm bushed for the day. I've done some ironing, not cleared the pile but I might finish it tomorrow.

Not sleeping too well since we put the second duvet on the bed - gee those geese have good down! So I need to remove the summer one tonight. If I wake up in the night my hips ache - it is most odd as it is the only time they hurt.

Hi Hex - I'm so glad you've come over here too - I can make pastry (DS1 makes fab pastry) but suck at bread - that is something I need to master.

Quick couple of emails and bits and I'm off to bed but I'll find you all tomorrow - sleep tight.
