"Gosh - I cant keep up today and feel really bewildered by the number of new posters. Welcome to OS thread. I will get confused so apologies in advance."
My apologies if I seemed rude and not welcoming. It was just a bit confusing as I have not "met" the flyladies before. Its the same as "real" life its daunting when you meet a whole new group of people for the first time - well it is for me as i have a very wobbly brain at the best of timesI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Evening all
I'm enjoying being over here with you lot so hope it is ok to stay about. You all seem friendly and I'm sure just a bit shell shocked to be inundated with us all.
A busy few hours in the dusty household with DS3 homework, dinner, beavers, testing DS1 for an exam tomorrow, carpenter coming to meausre up for DS2's desk. All done now so I'm going to enjoy a nice cuppa for all of 6 minutes before I start DS3's bedtime. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Hi everyone!! Welcome flyladies!!
Sunnygirl my thoughts are with you today.
Redruby Hope the house move goes to plan - come back soon!
Seem to be a lot of people troubled or under the weather so hugs to those in need.
Snow still lingering with ice hiding underneath, had some more last night but has been thawing gradually today.
After 32 years of marriage I have discovered that OH can make a wonderful Shepherds Pie!!Plenty left over for tomorrow.
Plenty of HM soup for lunches at work this week and will hopefully get the house in some sort of order with everyone back to normal.
Knitted myself a hat over the weekend - first thing for ages. Have also picked up the 1st learn to crochet mag.

Csarina - the cottage looks wonderful, hope you have a safe trip.
Welcome flyladies, it is nice to see so many people posting.0 -
Welcome Flyladies!!
Nice to see so many posters chatting on the thread :T
Thank you so much everyone for your messages of condolence, love & support I have been very touched by them all, and so has DH. We are dog tired now (what an expression my labrador is NEVER tired!) and will be early in bed tonight having not slept at all well last night.
All the main stuff for the funeral is sorted now and we are registering the death at the Town Hall at 3pm tomorrow. We seem to have sorted out such a lot today so hopefully the rest of the week will be easier. There have been tears, laughter, hugs & and all round feeling of relief as MIL had been poorly for ages and fought up to the end.
Some OS has taken place & I have taken great comfort in the normal routines to be honest. The kids have all still needed feeding, the dogs walking etc and it's been theraputic doing it all. Lunch was some toast and veggie soup from the freezer & dinner this evening was potato bake with the left over gammon from yesterdays lunch with peas & sweetcorn. We all had a bowl of trifle afterwards too
I have been doing some more knitting - a preemie baby hat in pale blue it's so sweet.
Hope that everyone has had a good day & I look forward to seeing more of you all tomorrow.
Csarina The cottage looks fab!!

Hello everyone, another flylady coming out of daily thread lurkdom. Lovely to see so many familiar names posting on here. I do think we are rather drowning you today and I did think twice before I added to the confusion - but I have seen nothing but welcomes from you all today so thought I would join in as well.
bargainbird - I think that vomit smilie wins the award for the grimmest one ever - v impressive!
molly41 - I know exactly what you mean, it is the same on the flylady thread, you never know who will stay and turn into the most interesting contributors and sometimes (as now with 45 new joiners last week) it can be a little overwhelming.
I want to try and use joining in with the daily chat to move away towards a more OS based lifestyle. I want to learn to make jam (:hello: Valli) and to put some variation into my recipe collection. I may even try to crack my personal bugbears and make edible gravy and pastry.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Evening all
Firstly glad to hear from you SunnyGirl - you sound quite peaceful (not sure Iif I am describing that right) - but at least the dreading the worst is over and you can all start to come to terms with things now and know that you did your utmost to make her passing peaceful, painfree and loving (which is all any of us can ask in the end!)
Secondly it is lovely to have all the new posters on the thread, I think that by the tone of some of the posts we may have gained some real characters and I am looking forward to reading your posts
And lastly speaking of right characters - Haribo I could not stop laughing at your post, still crying as we speak! Nearly had a Tena lady moment:eek:
I was reading it out to Hubbie and he said - isn't that the one who had the trouble with the boat too........and the chickens!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Thank you for making my day!!!!!
x
Edited to say Hex if you earn to make edible pastry will you teach me too - mine is always tough! lol"Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to........"Dieting ........... is no piece of cake!!!!:D
