I have opened mine by going to the apply link on the current account page on their site, not via internet banking (which always refused me).

u mean a second or third one right?

There seems to be little in the way of them checking that you have existing accounts. I am aware of the 'warning' given on the application page but that method hasn't failed me yet.
  • There is a link for existing customers to "Apply for an additional Classic Account " and that seems to go to the same application form, requiring that you confirm that you do not already have a current account. (I thought I'd tried it earlier and it just went to the online banking login, but doesn't seem to be doing that now.)
  • After me opening my 5th account, I got a lovely letter from Lloyds today thanking me for opening my account and upgrading to Vantage,,,,awfully nice of them

    Dear all
When you applied using the link on your a/c they will ask you to confirm:

"I do not have a current account with Lloyds TSB".

So By continuing you’ll be confirming that the statements above are true.

Those who have tried, is there any consequences or penalty when they find that our statement is not true ?.

The reason why I am asking because I am going to try myself, but if there is already warning I am not going to continue this.

    Your experience please ....

    Dear partlydave

Do you mean the person on the phone opened the a/c for you even s/he knew that you already had 3 a/c ?

I am asking because when I applied my third on the phone he clearly mentioned that I could only have max 3 a/c.

But some people in these forum confirm that they could open more than 3 a/c by link provided from the current a/c not internet banking.
But the problem with this is that you need to confirm something that you do not want to confirm.

The phone one was either my 2nd or 3rd account so the maximimum wasnt discussed. I waited about a month before opening another one online, then another month for the 5th one.

    Dear partlydave or all

Sorry to ask you again. When you apply online, did you use the link which is available on the current a/c.

Or you are using online application which is open to anybody else ?

Do we need to confirm that we do not currently have a/c with them ?

    Thank you
