    Hi,

I dont have any accounts with lloyds at the moment and am thinking about opening my first vantage account...I get the feeling that it will be best to do this in branch? or have people successfully applied online for their first account (not being lloyds customers already) and managed to open it without having to send id through the post etc...?

secondly, if you have 3 accounts

    a with 7k
    b with 7k
    c with 7k

and just transfer 1k between them e.g. a>b>c>a is that the best way of maximising your interest?

    Thanks for any replies.

My experience opening online is quite different. I lost about 4 weeks because the mistake they have made. In my own experience opening via telephone is much better, they will confirm opening immediately.

Thanks, hmm I might just pop into a branch this week and try to do it if i have time.

I wonder why this account isn't on the recommended page of accounts?

Because strictly speaking it is a current account, not a savings account?
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

I've got three Vantage accounts but wonder why LTSB make us all go through the rigmarole of the monthly transfer of £1000???????????
It's your money. Except if it's the governments.

Not sure why either, but it is hardly a rigmarole. Once the standing orders are set up it just happens automatically.

Because they're meant to be current accounts, not savings accounts... I would have thought this is obvious?

Still not been able to get more than 3 accounts - 1 joint plus two in my name. OH's application has not been sorted. I think they must be tightening up.

    But it's a pointless exercise.
