Carlsberg - massive, massive hugs to you sweetie...you know you can PM/facebook old muddy here if you need a rant/chat/advice on the best chocolate/wine (oh, how did that sneak in there!!!).

Tootles - i'm not pm'ed you because you probably have lots but hope you can get your laptop sorted and hugs to you xx

I've spent the afternoon making the most of my time...I've filed and chucked 15 years worth of course work/essays etc. It's freed up a massive shelf which I've now put all the cook books on. That has freed up a shelf in the hall which was actually the fold down table so now we have easy access to that.

Welcome to the thread if you're new to posting here xx

Apart from the few bits from the list and 2 lots of washing I have done very little today....think it was strange having the house to myself and just enjoyed the P+Q!!!!
I promise to get back in the swing of it tomorrow.....not sure if welsh class is on but not sure I feel brave to use the car yet if it is on.....we shall see xx

  • Hi I have an idea for the person who wants a fire alarm. In Hampshire (where I live) the fire service will come out for free and check your house for fire safety and provide free fire alarms(they also fit them). Hope this helps someone. x

Welcome! And well done on levels 1 and 2 :xmastree: Hmmm substituting the emergency box for the useful drawer is fine as long as you HAVE an emergency box, or at least know where everything is should you have a power cut or something

In my house, that sort of meal is called "strawberry surprise". The surprise is that usually it doesn't include strawberries but then occasionally a sidewinder comes in and it does!

    Non-flying post Im afraid...

Well Ive been over to the OS daily but to be honest they werent quite as welcoming as I had been led to believe.

One of the things that I liked about this thread (and I have only been here a week you understand) was that it wasnt just about lists, but that we could mention other stuff too. I am subscribed to a couple of others, but they are 'just lists' type of thing and no-one really gets to talk to each other - you post your stuff and that's it; someone else comes along and posts their stuff... and on it goes.

This thread was different. there was lots of cameraderie and people actually 'talked' to each other. Speaking as a newcomer (I may be out of place saying this) but that is what made me feel so welcome. I could jump right in and it was like you were family almost.

It would be a shame if this thread ends up like those where you post your stuff and move on :(

Exactly how I feel Ruth - you took the words out of my mouth ;)

Off to wash up tea dishes and then have to sit and do some typing for my boss - the money will come in very handy.

Think I'll probably be good and make DH's sandwiches too, set the WM and DW - oh how I'd love just to sit down, put my feel up and relax!
