thanks soappie/piggers/poppyt/jinky - just needed to vent. I did do 2 stars last week but didn't post as knew I would go off on one and let rip about how I feel so didn't post for a few days. After all the comments last week about posting less I thought I'd better keep my 'stuff' out of it. I thank you all for being so lovely, don't know why I'm being such a daft mare TBH and DH keeps looking at me whilst I've been posting here, he knows how I feel but then a put my 'face on' YKWIM?

Oy Mrs, the point is you can vent as long as you include some flying! Most of us are guilty of posting chat at some point, me included.

I am just going to put this tumbleweed somewhere sensible. It seems to be making a terrible mess on the thread atm :p. Speaking as one of the original posters on the first moggins fly lady thread, this crops up every so often, things will settle down again and hopefully along the way we gain new regular posters like we have every year :T.

I am off to clean the bathroom. I know it isn't the right day but I went to Lush this morning (in the big scary city!) and I want to have a bath in a clean room.

carlsberg - you're not being a daft mare, you're being a normal mother worrying about her babies (and grand-babies!). We're all here to listen. And I prefer it here too :)

  • Hi all

I'm a long time lurker and long time lazy butt.

I think that flylady could be a good idea for me but when I come in from work and do the dinner I have that "I really can't be bothered with cleaning" feeling.....

How long on average would you say you spend on each level per day? I think if I had an idea how long it would take me, this might give me more opportunity to decide how I could incorporate flylady in my day to day life.....

Thanks in advance to any replies

    rach - Happy Birthday!

I took the car out today, picked up dad and we went to Mr M so we both now have some food. Dad's road was very scary to drive down ...

Going back to work tomorrow so am hoping the roads up there aren't too bad - I will leave extra time and I am picking up a colleague so at least I'll have company.

My counselling has been postponed because of the weather, which I do understand, but it means I've only had one session in a month - oh well.

Well done on taking your Dad out Frodders, there are some scary places out there still with the ice and frozen snow and all. Wishing you a good day back at work. And re the counselling, your next session will come round before you know it. xxxx

Gammon in oven, bread being made in BM. DW loaded but not full enough to put on. A bit of Gordon's decluttered. Am now waiting for a TV programme at 7.30 which should be fun - only half an hour but I love the presenter....(Inside Out, BBC1, south coast region).

    Welcome nuttyr :xmastree:

The answer to your question is "how long is a piece of string?"

I think all new flyladies spend a lot of time getting up to speed - after all, general long term mess wasn't created in a day so it takes more than a day to fix it and it's wise to only start at level 1 each week. Over time, the chaos really does begin to disappear and things like "clean the hob" which can take HOURS initially become a way of life so you only actually spend about five minutes doing it once a week.

Even if you only incorporate little bits of the flylady lists each day, your home will become cleaner, trust me! I'm not a doctor!

Welcome - both to you and all the other newbies :hello:

Depending on what dinner is, I try to do some bits and bobs while dinner is on.

Alternatively - set a timer after dinner for 30 minutes and do as much as you can in 30 mins. Soon it becomes part of your routine and doesnt seem so much of a chore.

After the timer goes, your either on a roll and you do a bit more, or you stop and make a cup of tea and flop onto the sofa! But at least you will have done more than you normally would have.

Start only doing LEVEL ONE for a few weeks and see how you get on.

You know where we are if you need support, encouragement or a gentle kick up the backside :rotfl:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RACH (sorry hun, I thought it was tomorrow) xx

    Loadsa love all round xxx

Absolutely! But don't put it all off until Saturday and then feel exhausted at the end of the day.
