I'm amazed.
I used ketchup to clean the brass surround from our fireplace, it was extremely dull looking, and the ketchup worked, the surround is now very sparkly, and I didnt even have to use any elbow grease! Wow! I didnt really think it would work!
(and it was only cheapo Asda ketchup, not even Heinz:rotfl:)Jan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)

, books are currently stored in baskets/drawers in the spare room so I am trying to think of something to substitute.....any ideas????
DVD's or videos? Or sort through a basket or drawer of books and make sure you really want to keep them all for when you do get bookshelves? Or sit down and have a nice cup of tea and just strike through this task :rotfl:because you don't have bookshelves:D. Guess which one is my fave?0 -
Monday - Living room, hall and stairs
Level one
Clear floors of clutter and vacuum them Not able to vacuum,(health reasons) so will do a general tidy round, including both computer desks. Done
Make time for yourself!! Half an hour of peace!/hobbies/SOAADFA Have had to lie down several times during the day, which has totalled considerably more than half an hour.
Level Two
Wipe sofas Done, including bases of both computer chairs
Vacuum under furniture you can safely move.. I don't want any hurt bodies! See above. I do have to make bread rolls today, so will use the time to do that. Done
Sort coats and shoes and bags All tidy and put away
Level Three
Sort out emergency box.. in case of power failures etc.. candles, matches/lighter/torch/batteries and emergency numbers.. plumber, gas, electric, water etc
Candles: Large supply in chest in spare room Checked
Lighters: One in living room, one in bedroom Checked and refilled
Wind-up lanterns plus torch: In kitchen cupboard, second torch in bedroom cabinet.Mini-torch on my computer desk and another in my handbag. Checked
Batteries: Supply in writing desk in spare room. Checked
Emergency numbers: Programmed into mobile phone Checked
Organise a bookshelf! Even got a few books sorted for the bring'n'buy table at the next Moot
Check smoke alarms Done; walking stick #1 works well as a test-button pusher, too!
Extras- Wipe tops of downstairs door frames
- Wash any soft furnishing that need it
- polish and dust all the electricals!
- Binbag dance..
Done better than I'd hoped, considering I still feel decidedly icky. Haven't touched the Extra tasks, but other than those,
Monday is complete. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
maria - pigpen updates post 1 each night with whatever the next day's tasks are. a new thread is created on a Sunday night , hence the new thread will have Mondays list, on a Monday night it will be updated with Tuesdays items being added and so on.
So the stuff on there in pink already isjust for today.
Until you get on top of it, its best to start by only doing Level 1 tasks, or only doing even just 1 task. You will find that by the second week it will take less time to do the same tasks again as you already did it once only the week before, so on week 2 you could do 2 tasks per day, or try for Levels 1 AND 2. IYSWIM.
Hope that helpsJan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)

A good first day I think!! The living room actually doesn't look like a bombs hit it! My leftover Sunday Dinner pie was very nice too!
JillD - wow, I would like another child but I'm too scared. If I could give birth to a six month old (without the pain) I would have loads, its the first 3 months that kills me! You are very brave!
My water is back on now thankfully, the supply pipe must have frozen somewhere in the garden, but things have thawed out a bit now. I was looking at the forecast and its going to be 7 degrees here on Friday - tropical!!!0 -

Stars and welcomes done to 270 and if there are any mistakes, it's Toots' slightly incompetant PA rather than the great woman herself so direct all complaints to me, not her! R.I.P.
