Long Term Flylady0 -
Well Ive been over to the OS daily but to be honest they werent quite as welcoming as I had been led to believe.
I've picked your post as it was the first I came to - please don;'t take this personally, I could so easily have picked one of a dozen others :A
We have to give things time - one day, and a whole load of Flyladies droppin in unannounced, won;t bring out the bestI believe I've welcomed everyone, but with everything else going on in my life atm, I'm just not able to get into deep and meaningful chat, sorry
What is it that people want - do we want this thread to be about Flying, with a bit of chatOr do we want it to continue as was - a bit of Flying and lots of chat
I'm honestly not bothered - I post my list and chat if I can, but as I tend not to get into lots of chatting, I feel that I'm seen as a bit of an outsider (I appreciate that my Special Buddies don;t feel like that, but lots donot a problem, as I've said).
Hugs to all, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Non-flying post Im afraid...
Well Ive been over to the OS daily but to be honest they werent quite as welcoming as I had been led to believe.
Sorry you feel that way.And sorry you don't like the thread either Pigpen.
I'm a lurking Flylady. I do loosely follow the lists but don't post as the thread is too big for me. Sorry again that the daily thread doesn't suit people but i really don't think anyone was unwelcoming.....0 -

Piggers/soappie - LOL! Have decided it's some sort of beef stew thing, it's now on the hob curtesy of DH as I CBA'd! Have bought freezer writng label thingy's but it won't be as exciting now discovering what we are having for tea!
benw/mumof2 - my thoughts EXACTLY, tooch - meant to include you in my thank yous so sorry honey. Mudders - ditto
This thread is an inspiration to me that people are so loving and caring to folks they have never met and would walk right past them on the street as they wouldn't have the foggiest who they are. All walks of life coming together to help and support one another - blo£dy amazing to me. It isn't just about CLEANING - sorry all BG's/Martin (and I don't include the lovely amazing PenPen in that bit!) - meant in the nicest possible way, it's a mutually supporting thread that loads of us have NEEDED/WANTED to make life easier.
I know I said i would'nt post off thread but this is IMPORTANT
Thank you to all of you - you lot are amazing and your time to post to me a virtual stranger is making me all teary eyed again! so a massive thanksTo love and be loved is the greatest happiness of existance - Sydney Smith0 -
OK so that people dont get the wrong idea, the post that upset me and the reason why I havent joined in on the other thread was this one:

On the other hand there do seem to have been a number of posts commenting on how busy, full of new people, confusing, the thread has been today.
Oh well, I knew I was spending too much time on the computer anyway."
It wasnt the kind of welcome I had expected at all.

I'm moving away from this now. Real life is giving me a headache, so I'm going to have an early night and a coffee bun
See you all tomorrow, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
I like the idea of.. so long as something in the post is flying related you can waffle all you like.. I however am the exception (along with a couple of other sicknotes) who are exempt.. and as we have all been so very good cleaning all week we chat endlessly on a weekend.. if that bugs peeps on other threads then maybe they need to be here too
.. they would be very welcome.
EVERY New Year sees a massive influx of new flybots.. which is why I cull the list come easter.. 95% will have dropped out by then.. the thread will then move slower and it will be easier to follow.. I think for the next couple of weeks I should monitor the chatting.. I've nothing else I am capable of so it won't be hard and by then it will be obvious how busy we are.
I do think it is important to have some element of chat.. it is all part of the thread.. camaraderie.. we are here to support each other, and sometimes real things have to take priority and this is a safe platform.. we are a self-help group.. offering support and helping hands to get people through difficult times in their lives, help them learn new things and move on with their lives which a lot do.. with new habits and a new way of life.
And this discussions comes around every new year and every September when children go back to school.. the compromise we came up with last time was chat is confined to flying posts during the week and weekends are for chatting.. whole point of flying is to free weekends/time for chatting and family activities which I have seen happening in more and more homes of late so something is working well.HariboJunkie wrote: »Sorry you feel that way.And sorry you don't like the thread either Pigpen.

Don't apologise.. it is the way of things.. what suits some doesn't suit others.. such is life.. I am quite certain they are a lovely bunch over there, they did seem it when i did pop over but I never felt I truly gelled.. and Chatting isn't the be all.. trying to keep up with 2 threads would mean I do less than I do now.. which would mean I was actually creating more mess.. I need encouragement to do flying and here I get that and I can whinge when I want that is how it needs to be.. finding the right balance however is another challenge entirely.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Hi HariboJunkie
I have to say that the majority were very welcoming apart from the one that Benw mentions above and I for one will be posting again but I think we all get used to certain threads and the regulars that appear on each one have a certain camaradarie amongst themselves. Thanks for taking the time to post on here and see you over thereI'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints - the sinners are much more fun0
