Stayed the same Monday night even though I stuck to my points over the course of the week. Hopefully it will show next week.

Can anyone help with some advice about my daily points? As a heavy male I am at the maximum 40 points. Is it important to consume all my points? A day like today I've had 30 and I'm reasonably satisfied. Also, how many points is it advisable to carry over? Any numbers I've seen before seem to be based on women who consume around 20 points. I think what maybe have stopped me losing weight on Monday was the fact that I was under each day during the week then consumed all the saved points over the weekend, the two days before my weigh in.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

My Hubby is in a similar situation he gets 36 points a day and very often has lots left at the end of the day - he saves 4 from each day to help with our takeaway treat if we have lost at the weekend,. he figures so long as he is feeling like he is eatting enough why bother consuming extra points just for the heck of it . Figures it will make it easier when he's lost some weight and his points drop not to have to drop his portions or treats drasically . so far in 3 weeks he's lost 1st5lb had huge losses the first couople of weeks but a more reasonable and sustainable one this week.

It won't harm you if you don't eat all your points, you'll lose weight more quickly to start with but it might just be a bit more difficult when you reach a plateau. It will harm you if you carry over too many (i.e. more than 4 a day) and it will certainly harm you if eat them all at once!

Generally I save a few each day - so eat about 17 or 18 (am allowed 20, started on 21) although i tend not to use the ones i save because i don't need to. I find that i'm much happier with myself when i say 'no, I can't have that'. I don't count my activity points either - just count it as a good day when I do burn off some extra calories. Also in a few weeks i'll be down to 19 (fingers crossed) and I really don't want to have to cut what i'm eating even more. Going from 40 down to say 25-30 would be very hard!

  • Well my meal plan for today went down the pan - forgot to take out the frozen beef stir fry strips to defrost lastnight - d'oh! Me and the GF are feeling a little crappy today anyway so we've opted for a KFC for tea.

I've been good today and only had a WW medeterranean pasta meal for my dinner for 4pts.

I've also decided already what I'm having from KFC and pointed it to stay within my limit :)

    Zinger Burger: 7.5
    Medium fries: 4.5
    Medium diet pepsi: 0

In total that takes me to 16 points, so leaves me with 3 if I want them :)

Well today I was still feeling pretty crappy, my stomach is off which isn't great, but I've managed to eat more today *thumbs up*

    So today I've eaten:
    Ready Brek: 1.5
    Cereal Bar: 1
    Chicken Curry: 5
    Boiled Rice: 3
    WW Naan Bread: 1.5
    WW Caramel Crunch Dessert: 3
    =15/19

Tomorrows meal plan is as follows:
    Breakfast - Ready Brek: 1.5
Dinner - WW Sweet Chilli Chicken w/ Sticky Rice: 5.5
Tea: Stirfry beef and veg in blackbean sauce with garlic noodles: 7

Comes to 14pts leaving me with a total of 5pts to play with - will probably have some for of dessert after my tea :)

What cereal bar do you have thats 1p? :)

My OH is also doing WW and she's on 19 points and I'm on 40! Was especially difficult the first week or two with her struggling to stay within points and me not using enough.

Carrying no more than 4 points over is something I haven't been doing and probably explains why I never lost this week despite staying within my weekly points limit.

Our class has been really busy the past couple of week with limited time for questions so it's great to bounce ideas off everyone here!:j

I have Morrions Eat Smart Chewy Lemon Curd Breakfast cereal bars at 1 point. I also buy Asda Vitality cereal bars at 1 point - they come in flavours like banoffee and fruity mixtures like apple/raspberry and pomegranate.

Weigh in is on a Monday and I find that weekdays are relatively easy and I can eat around 10 points less between Monday and Friday. I've learned my lesson about thinking I can then use an extra 50 points over Saturday and Sunday before Monday weigh in! :o

I would encourage anyone to use all their points; if you cut back too much on the food then your body will go into starvation mode and you will stop losing weight (and feel really c rap!)
    /QUOTE]
also if you dont use your full points for the day as you loose weight and have to lower your point intake you will proberbly struggle to loose weight as your body will be used to the lower points already.
