Did bad thing and got some chips from chippie and ate the whole box of rich toffee bars! Oops! No treats for rest of week!
  • Stayed the same Monday night even though I stuck to my points over the course of the week. Hopefully it will show next week.

Can anyone help with some advice about my daily points? As a heavy male I am at the maximum 40 points. Is it important to consume all my points? A day like today I've had 30 and I'm reasonably satisfied. Also, how many points is it advisable to carry over? Any numbers I've seen before seem to be based on women who consume around 20 points. I think what maybe have stopped me losing weight on Monday was the fact that I was under each day during the week then consumed all the saved points over the weekend, the two days before my weigh in.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would encourage anyone to use all their points; if you cut back too much on the food then your body will go into starvation mode and you will stop losing weight (and feel really c rap!)
Hopefully you will be dropping those points sharpish but I am guessing you have a fairly active lifestyle to be getting that many points. Could you add extra drinks? Something like a thick shake or a smoothie would be pretty healthy and high in points. Other things that are relatively good for you and high in points are avocados, coconut milk...
Another way to add a lot more points is things like cheese and bread, though if you are full up they won't be things you will want to have
When you say about saving up for the weekend points are lots of those in alcohol? That may explain why you are weighing a little heavier, retaining water and all...

    Don't be discouraged though :)

    Thanks for the advice! :T

Unfortunately the 40 points are mainly made up from my weight (plus the extra points for being male, height etc.). At the advice of my leader I don't add on my activity points yet (recently taken up walking and swimming plus I'm wearing the WW pedometer so I can clock up a fair few extra points which I don't yet use).

I don't drink alcohol. My weekend extra points are made up treats like some crisps/chocolate/extra bread etc. I'm trying to spread them a bit more evenly this week.

The smoothie/shake idea sounds good to me. Something I can have later at night without lying heavy on me plus it's reasonably healthy. Don't want to use up my points with rubbish foods.

    Thanks again :)
  • Being going mad with my George Foreman grill the past few weeks. Been experimenting with different zero point veggies to bulk up my meals. Just add some fry light to both sides of the grill before cooking and the veggies natural juices should help give them a nice brown towards the end. Thought I'd share some of my successes with you!

Onions (red or white - need quite long cooking)
Peppers (red/orange/yellow - again need quite long cooking)
Carrots (quite thinly sliced - go quite sweet)
Mange tout/snow peas (need surprising little cooking)
Aubergine (thinly cut with extra fry light)
Courgette (again not much cooking required)
Mushrooms (thick cut, not much cooking required and their juices tend to brown the other veggies at the end)
Tomatoes (cut in half and thrown in for a a very short time at the end - any longer and they disintegrate!)
Broccoli (it looked pretty nasty browned but still tasted yummy!)

In the past my main meals would be heavy in protein and carbs like potatoes. But grilled veggies are now in the majority!
  • Well today I was still feeling pretty crappy, my stomach is off which isn't great, but I've managed to eat more today *thumbs up*

    So today I've eaten:
    Ready Brek: 1.5
    Cereal Bar: 1
    Chicken Curry: 5
    Boiled Rice: 3
    WW Naan Bread: 1.5
    WW Caramel Crunch Dessert: 3
    =15/19

Tomorrows meal plan is as follows:
    Breakfast - Ready Brek: 1.5
Dinner - WW Sweet Chilli Chicken w/ Sticky Rice: 5.5
Tea: Stirfry beef and veg in blackbean sauce with garlic noodles: 7

Comes to 14pts leaving me with a total of 5pts to play with - will probably have some for of dessert after my tea :)

ps. You are only supposed to carry over 4 from each day :)

Ah - carried over substantially more than that for last weekend!

Will definitely focus on trying to keep my daily points more consistent this week.
