  • Hi All!

Been reading through the old thread and now this thread over the past few days and would like to join in if you'll accept a token male!

Have got a lot of weight to lose but my medium term goal is 6st. I started WW just before Christmas and so far have lost 1st 5lb. As a result of being male and especially heavy I have the maximum 40 points to use each day.

Gave Slimming World a go a few years and did manage to lose over 3 stone. Unfortunately it's all back on. Their large numbers of "free" foods did little to help me with portion control (unlike WW points).

Now that I've been going at it for a few weeks I seem to be getting a hang of the points!
  • Morning everyone

Feeling really really annoyed with myself today. Yesterday started out really good. Low point brekkie, lunch and dinner so I could have 1/2 btl of wine as my treat when watching tv. Sounds good yep.... but I didn't stop at the 1/2 btl and went on to finish it and also had 3 yes 3 packets of walkers crisps... why oh why did I do it.

So I'm up this morning determined to get back on track plus head is slightly fuzzy . I'll try and claw back some points before WI on Monday but like everyone weekends are hard for me, but I'll give it a go.

Also got my appt through from the hospital for the 1st Feb where I'll be weighed. At my last appt on the 18th Dec, consultant said I needed to lose weight but at this rate I think I may have put on eek..... So really panicking now because we're going out for dinner for a friends birthday next Sat and I have this dread that doing WW for 3 weeks and I won't have lost anything.

    Morning folks

Welcome to the newbies, nice to have you join our little thread.

Just weighed in and (phew!) lost 1lb... loss has been very slow for me over last month but I was dreading a STS so am pleased with myself. I did feel like i had to really work for it this week, all meals were planned ahead last weekend with points in mind and I took a low point lunch to work 3 days out of 5 (comments were made about my celery and carrot sticks!) but its worked, so maybe that's what i need to do now...!

BigMommaMuppet - please don't give up yet. Is there another treat you can have instead of wine? My drink of choice now is bacardi and diet coke (1 point) which is easier to have just one! Is there an alternative you could have as a treat?

Ooo I now have another incentive lol, I have a few hehe. In 13 and a half weeks weigh in me and two of my friends are going on a makeover day, I went on one before Christmas at my before weight and HATED the pictures. I want to like these ones. I still have 2 and a half stone to get to target but if Im really good and try hard I reckon 26 pounds is maybe doable which is nearly another 2 stone and at that weight my size 6 clothes should fit me again just about!! Wish me luck!!!

At least if you've eaten them they won't be there to tempt you - the only foolproof way is to make sure you just don't have stuff like that around so my advice would be, forget it but don't let yourself do it again by making sure you don't buy crisps! If you have to, get something like french fries or quavers in a multipack which are about half the points (1.5) of the normal walkers crisps.

I have the occasional glass of wine but for the most part have given up drinking - completely so during the week. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, probably because I just can't justify to myself using upwards of a quarter of my points allowance (that's about a half bottle) on something that'll leave me hungover and regretful! Plus that's when the crisps seem like a good idea. I know myself too well to risk it!

i am so lucky i dont drink alcohol i never touch the stuff as i dont like the taste.
i only ever drink black coffee, water or diet coke coz i would simply hate having to spend any of my points on drink.
