    Hi all

I'm hoping someone can give me some advice about joining WW online. I need to lose about 1 stone and would like to try WW, but my problem is that I don't eat many vegetables and hardly any salad, I do eat fruit and some veg but I'm concerned that if I join up I might not be able to find enough meals and I don't have the inclination to cook from scratch when I get in from work.

I know that might sound like excuses not to lose weight but believe me when i set my mind to it I can do it but I like the idea of something like WW to help.

I'd be grateful for advice from those doing the new pro points plan.

Hi there, I've never done the online option but if you are self-motivated it should work fine. Fruit and veg are great as 'fillers' on WW to bulk up your meal and keep you full. But I don't see why it wouldn't work without them. What would you usually eat for dinner? Would you try the WW microwave meals for convenience? They are about 9 propoints per meal on average. You do get more for your points by cooking though...

    Hi Red,

Wish I was as motivated as you to do exercise! I end up spending a fortune on gym membership and never go! Look forward to hearing about your first weigh in. Have you much to lose?

You are allowed 49 extra weekly points on the new plan, which you can use for special occasions like your Christmas party. So wouldn't worry too much! Am personally a bit suspicious about having those extra 49 but hard not to!

hi there i think i will join :j i was wondering where did u download the app from- not long before they changed it i bought a ton of books/calculater/pedomenter etc and was going to stick with the old plan but i can see your point xx

I just searched weight watchers on the apps search (android phone) and there was a few of them, it is free and works brilliantly and so handy as I always have my phone with me, and the good thing is if the nutritional info is per 100g it will work out your exact portion size for you.Its been a godsend to me.
Hope you try pro points Im sure you will find it easier, things that are higher in protein and fibre keep you fuller for longer.Think bacon 2 rashers, a sausage, egg fried in spray of oil all for 9 points, now wouldnt that fill you up, add mushrooms and tomatoes for no extra points and you cant go wrong.
  • I have been really good all week, tonight is my first weigh in since the 22nd December.I did let loose a bit over the holidays but Im hoping it didnt cause too much damage or I will STS.
Was chatting to a few people on facebook last night who didnt know there wasnt a meeting last week and when they turned up at the community centre the que was out onto the carpark so I think I will rock up half an hour early tonight and help set up or something and get a good seat, couldnt bear to stand waiting for ages, on my last meeting only 5 people turned up so lots of new members tonight, cant wait.I like a busy meeting it helps to motivate me and we give each other lots of support.
Have been doing wii just dance, 3 full versions of a song each day, afterwards Im breathless and sweating so it must be doing me some good.
My motivation at the moment is the 6 pairs of brand new jeans with labels on in the wardrobe that I want to get into.
  • Hi all,

Ive just looked on the site and you get extra allowance if you are breastfeeding but it doesnt say how much, just that you need to have had your post natal check prior to joining.Im sure your leader will be able to tell you.

just seen on the message boards you get 14 extra points a day, thats roughly 500-600 calories.

Hi...Im after abit of clarification rejoining Weight Watchers..I reached my goal weight last year at my local class and unfortunately I have put back on over a stone ..so Im wanting to go back to classes to get the motivation to get rid of this extra stone.
Does anyone know if I have to rejoin as in become a new member or will they still have my gold membership card and i can just go back and just start where i left off as i still have all my weigh in cards??
    Thanks in advance...
  • Err im not 100% as i am far from goal but I think as a gold member you have to weigh in at least once a month, so you will have to rejoin but if you are still within your goal weight you wont have to pay.Hope this helps, I suppose they cant keep everyones cards. You will need to take your gold membership with you, its probably just a case of filling in the forms so they have a record.
  • Right just been to my first weigh in since 22nd of December, I have put 2lbs on which I think is very good considering Ive had christmas and been left to my own devices for 3 weeks, anyway that will be off this week.
Oh my god, the que was massive, 35 new members the leader ran out of books for newbies!!! Hope they all stick at it, I love the meetings when there is lots of new motivated people, it gets slightly competative and makes me work harder.Lots of old faces there too.It was so busy the meeting overrun by 20 mins.Hoping to lose 10lb in the next 4 weeks.

    Hi there,

I'm a gold member about a stone over too. You don't need to rejoin as a new member, take your gold membership card or weigh in cards with you and there should be no membership joining fee. If you are 5 lbs or more over your goal weight then you pay the weekly fee or could get a monthly pass. When you get within 5 lbs of your goal weight again you get free meetings. Think you have to weigh in five times a year but given you can visit other meetings anywhere in the UK I doubt they have a way to check. Also if you set a lower goal weight than the top of the range for your height it might be worth asking about upping the target if it gets you free meetings again now. Good luck!

I have put on just 1lb since November so that was quite good. Must get to grips with Pro Points properly now and plan ahead.

    How's everyone else doing?
