Does anyone know how long it takes for classes to calm down again after Christmas - is it about 6 weeks like at the gym.
I went to class last week - have previously been an online member but wanted to get my head around the new system so thought I'd go to the classes until I knew what I was doing - was ridiculous - I got there early ishso was weighed quite quickly but I then waited 45 minutes for "the talk" - there were still about 15 people waiting to be weighed and I had a pta meeting to go to so had to leave.
I have all the booklets but don't really get it - from experience I have to have someone actually explain. Begrudge paying to go again this week if only to get weighed - I can do that at home!
As a rsult, don't think I've been doing it properly so don;t hold high hopes for WI.

I just don't really get it - I think tbh I need the book with all the points in or the esource but was going to discuss which would be better and then never got the chance.
I think having done the old scheme isn't really helping as I get confused about how many points each thing is.
And then to confuse matters more, I bought some WW branded things in Asda today which it turns out are old points e.g the malted danish bread. Says 1/2 a point - no idea how much they are on propoints.
I don't think I'm using the calculator dial right - can a special k bar really be only 2 points when I'm allowed 29?
Also, reading the booklet confused me e.g re potatoes and them having different points dependent on how you cook them. I made SW roasties for tea - par boiled, sprayed with low fat spray and then cooked in the oven. Do I count them as bakes? boiled? somewhere in between?

Not sure about the potatoes I'm afraid...

But just checked my calculator and a Special K bar is indeed 2 points (must remember that myself!)
The malted Danish bread is 1 propoint per slice using the new system.

    Woops pressed enter too soon...

Are you signed up to the monthly pass? If so you can use esource for free and it is great.

    Hope that helps!

Thank you - I didn't sign up for anything last week because I wanted to speak to the leader first.
Maybe I'll brave it again this week - those meetings are really not my thing. Although I don't think I'll have lost anything as I've been feeling very demotivated. Think I'll sign up for one mothly pass to get me started.
btw - Special K bars are £1 a box at at asda
  • Hi all

I'm hoping someone can give me some advice about joining WW online. I need to lose about 1 stone and would like to try WW, but my problem is that I don't eat many vegetables and hardly any salad, I do eat fruit and some veg but I'm concerned that if I join up I might not be able to find enough meals and I don't have the inclination to cook from scratch when I get in from work.

I know that might sound like excuses not to lose weight but believe me when i set my mind to it I can do it but I like the idea of something like WW to help.

I'd be grateful for advice from those doing the new pro points plan.

  • Morning All,

Now I hope you don’t mind me joining your merry little gang, I’m a serial dieter, have tried them all in the past and given up – mainly cause I don’t give myself enough slack, so on it or off it, no grey area, well this time I’m going to do it, and I know its all the new year and everything and everyone does that I’m gonna eat better and exercise more but I have given myself the first week in Jan as a kind of cooling off period – and well I still want to eat more healthy lose some weight and exercise more – general healthy choices to improve my health. Decided last night that I am going to start today, this morning right away and well I was walking to work and almost to confirm my thought there was a man – poor fella – collapsed in the sainsburys local and well as I walked passed you could see the paramedics giving him CPR – didn’t look too good but he was in the best possible hands – anyway – it gets you thinking – you never know how long you have or when your time will be up and at the rate I am going in mistreating my diet – etc I’m just – well need to get a grip.....
So I have started bk today on WW (done it before so I have a little bit of an idea) and I shall be joining a group on Wednesday night (to get to grips with the new proplus) but I am trying to give myself a nice little start – although having said that I am meant to be going on my works Christmas staff night out –(don’t ask we just didn’t fit one in before Christmas) tomorrow night so its meant to be drinks and pub grub which I shall try to eat healthy but it could end up as several drinks and a curry – I have no control of where we go only what I eat and drink so will report bk on that but I don’t officially start till Wednesday.;)

Oh also joined a gym(again waited till I was sure) and have signed up to go twice a week and if I do i am entered into a draw to win a year’s membership – got to get this body moving. Start that on Wednesday as well ;)

Hi Dawn, I really think the meeting is worth going to. Any time I've slipped over the last few years is when I tried to brave it alone! Even one month would be worthwhile just to get the hang of things. The only thing that puts me off the meetings though, is that I am about 8 or 10 years younger than most people. Maybe my area has a particularly old WW following!!
