  • purplestar87 - I'm sure next week will be a much better week for you :D

I've decided that my goal is definately going to be 7lb by 25th December.

So my goal for this year overall will be to lose 21lb (as my previous goal was to lose 14lb in 6 months..). Fingers crossed I can do this :D

I start my new job on Monday, so hopefully that will help keep me on track and get me up and about a bit more than I have been in the house sitting on my !!! for the majority of the day! ;)

Anyone got any ideas on what makes a good 'packed lunch'?

I want to avoid the temptation of purchasing my dinner everyday to save me £'s and lbs! So I'm going to nip to Tesco either tomorrow or Sunday to pick up some stuff to make my lunches for the week with.

Any ideas people? I'm looking for things that won't get boring - sandwhiches everyday is totally snooze!

    lunch ideas I use -

mini hoummus pots (I get eat smart from morrisons which are 3 little pots, all 2-3 points a pot) with a pitta (1.5 points) or two and some carrot batons or celery.
salad leaves with celery or cherry tomatoes and something else - ham, falafel, grated low fat cheese or smoked salmon (after payday!)
rice cakes & philadelphia light with salad bits
if I am making pasta in the evening I often make an extra little portion and take that in with salad leaves to bulk it up.

we have a nice canteen where I work (nhs) so I sometimes get a jacket potato or a vegetarian hot dish. I don't really like sandwiches!

I also take snacks to work so I'm not tempted by the biscuits! - yoghurts, ww desserts, bananas, kiwis, frozen raspberries (melted by the time I get to work!) or cereal bars (but watch out for ones with low points)

There is a thread on Old Style Money Saving devoted to peoples weekly meal plans, often includes lunches and worth a browse. I would be interested to hear what other ideas people have.

PS - good luck with the new job!

ooh good luck with the new job :D

i've been taking salads in to work, chicken, ham or prawn. i've been getting hungry later in the day as i've not been eating bread with it, so from today i have started adding a points worth of pasta to bulk it up a bit

this is the first time in my life i have actually eaten salad before it has rotted away in the salad drawer :D
  • Thanks for the ideas ladies :D

Is houmous good with pitta bread? I assume you mean to dip in? I've never eaten it like that before, only ever with cucumber and celery sticks - but I'm not a big celery fan so..hmm

I was thinking of making myself some pittas filled with salad and different fillings to make a change from sandwhiches. Switching things up will mean lunchtime isn't so damn boring!

I'm not sure as to the facilities at my new job regarding lunctime - ie) my previous job had a tiny staff room that had a microwave, meaning WW meals were a decent choice for lunch/tea there. I guess I'll find everything out on monday!

I've been unemployed since I moved here like 8 months ago, so it's going to be great going back to work and getting a routine in my life! I need motivation, and something to help me move around that little bit more!! :D

In my interview they asked me what my biggest achievements were and aside from my exam results, I said my weight loss. They were in shock at how much weight I'd lost in total and seemed really impressed (my two interviewers were women - 1 of which was dieting ;) ) So I think that may have sweetened my appeal haha ;)

Oh dear- went to my sisters 40th BBQ last night and let myself down big time! I ate and ate and ate! On top of that I was so busy running round, cooking etc that I gave in to the lure of a Big Mac! LARGE! I am not happy with myself!
Anyway, back on the band wagon today!
Hope everyone else is doing better than me!

    Hi folks
STS for me this week. I was over my points again this week so it wasn't a big surprise!

Am going to work hard to lose this week! Stayed for the meeting and it gave me a much needed push in the right direction. The leader wants us all to challenge ourselves to lose 7lbs in 4 weeks and I am going to do my best to stay focussed over the next month, as recently I've just been alternating good weeks and bad weeks!
Home made lasagna tonight (with salad of course!) and have some spare points for blueberries with yoghurt as dessert. Might try the chicken and sausage gumbo ww recipe again tomorrow, as that was very tasty last time round.

Update on the wedding dress shopping - have been twice and three dresses stood out, so am going back with Mum to try on all three (all in different shops of course) next Saturday! Very exciting and those corset style lace ups do wonders for your figure!!!

Hope you are having a great weekend! x

Ooh congrats on the wedding dress shopping :D

I went shopping for bras today as I have dropped a bra size - boo hoo :( Now a 34D. Sad times. However, I would much rather have dropped a bra size and lost weight, than be the weight i was. So i guess it's a fair compromise!

Shopping in today's heat was a total nightmare. I got so stressed and flustered and sticky and ugh! Nasty times.

Hi all, new to this thread. started WW 3 weeks ago and going well so far. My start weight was 12st 12lb and my goal is 11st (I'm 5' 8).

My problem is probably different to most of you, I struggle to eat all of my points!!! I am breastfeeding so can have 31 a day! I get to 9pm and think oh no I've still got 4-6 points to eat, but I've already eaten everything. I know I should be pleased that I can have desert everyday and WW recipe carrot cake (my only vice!).

Anyway, I look foward to taking this journey with you all.
